Sources confirmed: “Last night, a UAV belonging to the Ukrainian security services approached Morozovsk airport in the Rostov region – where aircraft and guided bombs are stored,” and affirmed that the Ukrainian UAV “performed very well, attacking the ammunition depot for aircraft.”
For his part, Russian Rostov Oblast Governor Vasily Golubev stated on Telegram that local authorities have declared a state of emergency in the Morozovsk district.
Golubev stated: "Currently, we have recorded damage at a number of social facilities, including schools and kindergartens, as well as at residential homes and industrial facilities."
The source also acknowledged that Ukrainian drones attacked a fuel depot in the Kamensky district of the Rostov region, where Russian officials had previously reported a drone attack that caused oil tanks to catch fire.
Reuters reported on August 3rd, citing information from the Russian Ministry of Defense , that Russian forces destroyed at least 76 Ukrainian attack drones, including 36 in the Rostov region and 17 in the Oryol region.
Russian air defenses neutralized eight UAVs over the Kursk region and nine others in the Belgorod area bordering Ukraine.
Earlier that day, Reuters reported that the Ukrainian military said it had sunk a submarine and damaged a Russian S-400 air defense missile system off the Crimean Peninsula.
The Ukrainian military said its attack significantly damaged four launchers in Russia's S-400 air defense missile system on August 2.
Kyiv also claimed to have successfully sunk the Russian submarine "Rostov on Don" at the port of Sevastopol on the Crimean Peninsula.
