Dong Nai is an industrial province, so attracting domestic and foreign enterprises to invest in industry, trade and services is an important goal to promote economic growth. Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Minh Dung said that the province will always prepare a favorable investment environment for enterprises to successfully invest in the province.

By the end of April 2025, Dong Nai had attracted more than 36 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI). Domestic enterprises invested more than 3.4 billion USD in the province's industrial parks. Enterprises established in Dong Nai have a registered capital of about 20 billion USD.

Dong Nai is in the top of FDI attraction

For many years, Dong Nai has always been in the top of the country’s provinces and cities in attracting FDI. Could you tell us more about the performance of FDI enterprises in recent times?

- Dong Nai is one of the leading localities in the country in attracting FDI capital. In 1989, the province welcomed the first FDI project in the taxi transport service sector granted by the State Committee for Cooperation and Investment to the Vatadona Joint Venture Company. From 1994-1998, FDI capital in Dong Nai created a major breakthrough in industrial growth and other sectors with many projects from major investors such as: Fujitsu, Kao, Samsung, Kolon, Chrysler, CP, Cargill...

Although the following stages had ups and downs, Dong Nai has always been a destination chosen by many large FDI corporations in the world . The province is always in the top 5 provinces and cities leading the country in attracting FDI. Up to now, Dong Nai has had 45 countries and territories investing. Industrial development creates jobs for many workers inside and outside the province. The province's industrial parks alone provide jobs for nearly 600,000 workers, of which nearly 50% are from other provinces and cities.

FDI enterprises have contributed to the high growth of the province's export turnover and made it one of the six provinces with the largest export turnover in Vietnam. At the same time, each year FDI enterprises in Dong Nai contribute about 1 billion USD to the state budget.

In 2025, the province's economic growth target is 10%. In your opinion, how important is the role of FDI capital in the province's economic development?

- Dong Nai's economic growth rate in 2025 has been approved by the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Council as 10%. Therefore, the province has proposed solutions to exploit potentials and advantages to achieve the set growth target. In the economic development of the province, the contribution of the business community is very important and indispensable is the FDI enterprise sector.

In order for enterprises to successfully invest in the province, Dong Nai always focuses on improving the investment environment in the direction of creating more favorable conditions for enterprises in implementing projects. Specifically, the province continues to reform administrative procedures, creating favorable conditions for investors to access information on land, planning, policies and investment procedures. In 2025, the province plans to deploy many new industrial parks to meet the increasing needs of FDI enterprises, especially in the fields of high technology and green industry.

Dong Nai is expected to attract investment in the fields of tourism, logistics, trade services, real estate... This is an area with a lot of potential and advantages for development.

In 2025, key national projects and works, especially key national inter-regional transport infrastructure works of the province have been and are continuing to accelerate the progress of investment and construction such as: Long Thanh International Airport Project, expressways such as Ben Luc - Long Thanh, Dau Giay - Tan Phu, Tan Phu - Bao Loc, Bien Hoa - Vung Tau, Ring Road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City, Ring Road 4 - Ho Chi Minh City and key projects of the province such as inter-port road, Huong Lo 2, Dong Nai riverside road... These projects not only improve regional connectivity but also reduce transportation time, helping businesses reduce logistics costs and increase business efficiency.

Dong Nai is committed to building a sustainable investment environment, encouraging FDI enterprises to apply modern technology and participate in green supply chains to ensure economic development goes hand in hand with environmental protection.

Many policies to support businesses

Besides the potentials and advantages, many businesses also want to know more about the province’s accompanying and supporting policies. Can you elaborate on the province’s support for businesses?

- Dong Nai province will always accompany enterprises because the success of enterprises will greatly contribute to the socio-economic development of the province. Therefore, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 109/QD-UBND dated January 13, 2025 to establish the Steering Committee for supporting enterprises and developing the economy of Dong Nai province. In 2025, the Steering Committee will focus on advising the Provincial People's Committee to promote support for enterprises, unlock all resources to promote economic development of the province by 10% compared to 2024.

In particular, the province will develop plans and programs to attract investment in the fields of industry, trade services, logistics, tourism, agriculture, real estate, trade promotion, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles for businesses in the area. The province will support businesses to quickly implement projects, put them into operation soon, creating momentum for economic growth.

Dong Nai will train high-quality human resources to meet the requirements of domestic and foreign investors in many fields. Review the area of ​​industrial parks that meet the conditions, invite investors to implement the project. Plan land funds for small and medium enterprises... Develop policies, support enterprises to invest in social housing projects for low-income people so that they have a stable place to live and feel secure working in Dong Nai.

Currently, the Government is very interested in the private economy - a sector that contributes greatly to the country's economic development. In Dong Nai, how is the support for private economic development?

- Dong Nai identifies the private economy as playing an important role in the province's economic development. Therefore, the province has developed policies to support small, micro and medium enterprises, and business households to convert their business types to enterprises. In particular, the province focuses on resolving bottlenecks, bottlenecks, and barriers to facilitate the development of the private economy. Because the private economy contributes more than 60% of the total social development investment capital and makes a large contribution to the state budget.

Sir, in the coming time, what conditions must businesses meet to implement projects in Dong Nai?

- By 2030, Dong Nai plans to complete 48 industrial parks with a total area of ​​over 18,400 hectares. The province prioritizes attracting projects with high technology, modern management, high added value, spillover effects, and connections to global production and supply chains. In the industrial sector, the province will focus on developing three key product groups: aviation industry, semiconductor industry, chip manufacturing and artificial intelligence; automation equipment and information technology equipment. In agriculture, the province will attract high-tech agricultural projects, production of high-yield, high-quality plant and animal varieties, ensuring food safety. Projects on growing and producing pharmaceuticals and medicinal herbs; projects on processing agricultural products and food...
