Some highlights of the photo contest "Beauty of Thanh Hoa Journalists" through two seasons

The "Beauty of Thanh Hoa Journalists" photo contest, organized by the Thanh Hoa Journalists Association since 2023, has completed two seasons and left a lasting impression on journalists in Thanh Hoa province. The contest aims to promote and showcase the beauty of Thanh Hoa journalists in their work and experiences, recognizing and honoring their dedication to the cause of journalism.

The Thanh Hoa Journalists Association invited reputable journalists and photographers with expertise and experience to participate in the Judging Panel and Evaluation Council. This ensured objectivity and critical analysis in the judging and evaluation of the winning entries.

In the first year of the competition, nearly 120 works were submitted, while in the second year, nearly 100 works were submitted. The prize values ​​were 5 million VND for the A prize, 3 million VND for the B prize, 2 million VND for the C prize, and 1 million VND for the Encouragement prize. The winners received certificates from the Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Journalists Association. As a result, the first "Beauty of Thanh Hoa Journalists" photo contest in 2023 had 18 winning entries, including 1 A prize, 3 B prizes, 6 C prizes, and 8 Encouragement prizes; in 2024, there were 21 winning entries, including 2 A prizes, 4 B prizes, 6 C prizes, and 9 Encouragement prizes.

Overall, the entries submitted to the competition adhered closely to the competition's guidelines and regulations.

Besides photographic works capturing beautiful moments in all aspects of work, daily life, culinary culture, experiences with products, services, tourism, and immersion in the lives of artists and writers, Thanh Hoa journalists also have works that reflect the unique nature of the work of journalists on the information and propaganda front, strongly fighting against negativity and social evils, serving the Fatherland and the People. They promote, publicize, and honor the beauty in the work of Thanh Hoa journalists in all working conditions. They acknowledge the dedication of journalists in the province to the cause of journalism, especially in participating in the process of building and developing the socio -economic, security, and defense aspects of Thanh Hoa province in particular and the country in general in the current period. Topics explored include: New rural development, OCOP and VietGap product production models; Outstanding achievements in industry, transportation, and tourism in Thanh Hoa province contribute to promoting and building a positive image of journalists in Thanh Hoa in particular and the people of Thanh Hoa in general in the hearts of friends both domestically and internationally.

Many of the photographic works are series of images that demonstrate the author's meticulous intellectual investment and thoughtful consideration in selecting the subject matter, content, and compositional form, conveying the message in each image.

Besides the advantages, there are still limitations that need to be addressed, especially regarding image quality. The submitted photographs still have overlapping themes; some authors still submit entries under their own names, including their names in the submitted works; the number of photo series is not large; and some works do not focus on content, have errors in form and composition, and lack logic in the series.

Hopefully, the "Beauty of Thanh Hoa Journalists" photo contest will have even more high-quality entries in future seasons.
