The VSTN cable line has a total length of about 3,900km, passing through five countries and is built entirely on land.
This cable line directly connects Da Nang with leading international data centers in the region, and is the first international fiber optic cable line 100% invested by Vietnam.
With the goal of mastering the infrastructure connecting from ground to space, VNPT has invested in building the first cable connecting Vietnam and Singapore entirely via land infrastructure.
This is not only a pioneering telecommunications project but also demonstrates the national strategic vision of proactive connectivity, enhanced flexibility, security and incident response capabilities.
Putting the VSTN cable line into operation helps VNPT gradually complete the multi-modal transmission infrastructure ecosystem: from land, across the sea to space.
The VSTN cable route has special technical and strategic significance for Vietnam. The cable route passes through five countries including Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
This cable connects VNPT's technical center in Da Nang with major data centers such as IDC Telehouse (Thailand), MY01 Cyberjaya, Equinix JH01 Johor Bahru (Malaysia), Equinix and Global Switch (Singapore).

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the VSTN cable line of VNPT Group, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung commented: "Vietnam's telecommunications infrastructure has become digital infrastructure, the foundation of the digital economy, so safety and sustainability are vital factors.
To achieve that, it is necessary to diversify the infrastructure with many submarine optical cables going in different directions, especially land optical cables, because this type has the ability to recover very quickly."
Mr. Hung said that for nearly 30 years, Vietnam has never had an international cable line 100% invested by Vietnamese people.
"VNPT Group, with its spirit of attack, has very quickly deployed an international fiber optic cable line on land - the first line entirely invested by Vietnamese people and Vietnamese enterprises.
I hope domestic network operators will continue to develop more international cable lines, with Vietnam as the investor," Mr. Hung emphasized.
Putting the VSTN line into operation helps Vietnam no longer depend entirely on submarine cables.
VNPT's direct control of the entire connection route from Vietnam to Singapore, from start to finish, ensures independent operation and quick problem handling.
In particular, in the context of continuous and prolonged submarine cable incidents affecting the quality of Internet services and international connections, VSTN becomes an important backup route, contributing to ensuring network safety and stability.
