Expedite the land clearance process.
Authorities in Hanoi's wards are accelerating land clearance for the Ring Road 1 project, specifically the Hoang Cau - Voi Phuc section, with the goal of completing the handover of all land to the investor before December 15th. The People's Committees of Lang Ha, O Cho Dua, and Giang Vo wards have been instructed to implement necessary measures, including enforcement, to ensure progress.

Project overview information
The Ring Road 1 project, specifically the Hoang Cau - Voi Phuc section, spans over 2.2 km and passes through three central wards: O Cho Dua, Giang Vo, and Lang Ha. The project has a total investment of over 7,200 billion VND and is managed by the Hanoi Civil Construction Investment Project Management Board.

According to the Project Management Board, the total land area to be acquired for the project is 153,341 m², affecting 1,983 households. In Giang Vo ward alone, the area to be acquired is 40,015 m², affecting 795 households.

Current construction and land clearance status
As of December 11th, the demolition of structures within the project area is proceeding urgently. Most households in Giang Vo ward have completed the handover of their land. Numerous heavy machines and equipment have been mobilized to demolish buildings, preparing for road construction.

Reasons for the delay
The project was approved in December 2017 and was expected to be completed in 2020. However, implementation has been significantly delayed, mainly due to long-standing land clearance issues. Accelerating progress in December is expected to resolve the biggest bottleneck for this crucial infrastructure project.

Ring Road 1 is considered a vital transportation artery, passing through the historical inner city area with a high population density. This area covers approximately 31.5 km², is home to about 600,000 people, and sees millions of vehicles passing through it every day.
