The beauty of 'Brick Kingdom' Mang Thit won the gold medal at the Mekong Delta Art Photography Festival

On September 30, at Vinh Long City Square, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists coordinated with the Vinh Long Provincial Literature and Arts Association to organize the award ceremony of the 39th Mekong Delta Regional Art Photography Festival in 2024 with the theme "The country and people of the Mekong Delta on the path of innovation".

According to Mr. Tran Thanh Son, Chairman of the Vinh Long Province Literature and Arts Association, this festival attracted 1,851 works by 252 authors from 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta. After the online judging round, the Jury selected 144 works by 90 authors to enter the exhibition and award round.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Hanh, Head of the Mass Mobilization Committee of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee (left cover) and Ms. Tran Thi Thu Dong presented the gold medal to author Truong Phu Quoc, with the work Preserving Phu Quoc coral reefs.

The content of the photo festival shows the natural beauty, land and people of the Mekong Delta, achievements in economy , culture - society, security, national defense, sea and islands, national borders, building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, typical examples in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, the beauty in the spiritual life of ethnic minorities; encourages works introducing the strengths and potential for tourism development in the region, the topics of building new rural areas, transforming agricultural structure towards modernity, traditional craft villages...

Speaking at the award ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh, Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, respectfully acknowledged and thanked all authors whose works were entered into the festival; at the same time, she said that from the perspective of life, whether winning an award or not, each work carries its own message, has its own meaning, and is a message conveying the author's wishes. She hopes that all photographers will always nurture their passion for art, always turn their lenses in all directions to capture, reflect vividly and truthfully, and inspire viewers about the good values ​​of life.

The Mekong Delta Art Photography Festival is also an opportunity for Literature and Art Associations, photographers, and art photography enthusiasts to exchange and share experiences in creating and promoting works, and to promote the photography movement in the Mekong Delta region.

The work "Conserving Phu Quoc Coral Reef" by author Truong Phu Quoc won the gold medal in the color photography category.

The jury selected and awarded outstanding works, including: The Delta photo contest with the theme "The country - people of the Mekong Delta on the path of innovation" including 2 sets of awards for color photos and black and white photos; The photo contest with a special theme on Vinh Long province, with the theme "Vinh Long Tourism - characteristics" are color photos entered into the exhibition round at the 39th Mekong Delta Regional Art Photography Festival in 2024 and the PhotoMarathon contest (quick photography).
