Vietnam always attaches importance to the traditional friendly and cooperative relationship with Mozambique.

The Speaker of the National Assembly of Mozambique highly appreciated the cooperative relationship between the National Assemblies of Vietnam and Mozambique, and agreed to strengthen cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries.

During her official visit to the Republic of Mozambique, on the morning of September 12th, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan met with the Speaker of the Mozambican Parliament, Esperança Bias.

The Speaker of the Mozambican National Assembly warmly welcomed the Vice President and the Vietnamese delegation on their official visit to Mozambique, affirming that the visit is of great significance in promoting cooperative relations between the two countries.

Recalling the profound impressions from his visit to Vietnam in June 2022 at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, National Assembly Chairman Esperança Bias reaffirmed the warm feelings that the National Assembly and people of Mozambique have for the National Assembly and people of Vietnam.

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan thanked the Chairman of the National Assembly of Mozambique for the warm reception and conveyed greetings from the Chairman of the National Assembly of Mozambique to the Chairman of the National Assembly of Mozambique. The Vice President affirmed that Vietnam always values the traditional friendly cooperative relationship with Mozambique, including close cooperation between the National Assemblies of the two countries.

Congratulating the positive developments in multifaceted cooperation between the two sides, the Speaker of the Mozambican Parliament highly appreciated the cooperative relationship between the Vietnamese and Mozambican Parliaments; and agreed to strengthen cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries.

To strengthen and facilitate bilateral relations, the two leaders expressed their desire to make parliamentary relations an important channel in implementing each country's foreign policy through enhanced cooperation in legislative and oversight work.

Specifically, both sides agreed to strengthen contacts and exchanges of delegations at all levels; enhance the role of the Parliament in monitoring and promoting the implementation of cooperation agreements between the two countries; coordinate closely and support each other in inter-parliamentary forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union; and effectively and substantively implement the "Memorandum of Understanding" between the Parliament of Mozambique and Vietnam signed during the visit of Speaker Esperança Bias.

The Speaker of the Mozambican Parliament affirmed support for economic relations between the two countries. Based on this, both sides agreed to further promote cooperation in telecommunications. The Speaker highly appreciated Movitel's activities, especially its participation in the digital transformation of the Mozambican Parliament.

Both sides also agreed to leverage their maritime and agricultural advantages to prioritize cooperation in agriculture and fisheries; promote cooperation in trade, education and training; and expand cooperation in promising areas such as minerals and culture.

Speaker of the National Assembly Esperança Bias thanked the Vietnamese side for deciding to increase the number of scholarships awarded to students from Mozambique.

Both sides also expressed their desire to promote tourism cooperation based on developing the potential of marine tourism and cooperation on gender equality to share experiences and achievements that the two countries have attained in promoting the role of women in national leadership and management.
