The 13th ASEAN Para Games will take place in 2026 in Thailand.
Today, according to the announcement from the Vietnam Sports Administration, the Vietnam Paralympic Sports Delegation is expected to attend the 13th ASEAN Para Games with 184 members. Including 139 athletes, 27 coaches, and 17 officials.
The 13th ASEAN Para Games will take place in Korat (Thailand) from January 15 to January 27, 2026. The Vietnamese disabled sports delegation will participate in 11 sports including swimming, athletics, weightlifting, badminton, table tennis, chess, judo, boccia, archery, tennis, and fencing. The goal of the Vietnamese disabled sports delegation at the 13th ASEAN Para Games is to win 40 to 50 gold medals, placing in the top 4 of the entire delegation.

The leader of the Vietnam Sports Administration shared that participating in the ASEAN Para Games is an opportunity for Vietnam to expand cooperation in the field of physical education and sports for people with disabilities with countries in the region, while affirming the position of Vietnamese sports for people with disabilities in the Southeast Asian region. This is also an opportunity to test and evaluate the capacity and professional level of athletes with disabilities to prepare for the 5th ASIAN Para Games in Aichi-Nagoya (Japan) and the Paralympics in the US in 2028.
In recent ASEAN Para Games, the Vietnamese disabled sports delegation has performed impressively. In the 11th edition, the delegation won 65 gold medals and in the most recent edition, the 12th, they won 66 gold medals. Outstanding faces of the Vietnamese disabled sports delegation over the years include Le Van Cong, Dang Thi Linh Phuong (weightlifting), Vo Thanh Tung, Le Tien Dat (swimming), Cao Ngoc Hung (athletics), Pham Thi Huong, Tran Thi Bich Thuy (chess).
The departure ceremony of the Vietnamese disabled sports delegation to the 13th ASEAN Para Games in Thailand is scheduled to be held on December 16, 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City.
