Vietnam celebrates 80th National Day and shows gratitude to international friends in a solemn, thoughtful and inspiring manner

International delegates from Korea, Laos, Cambodia, China, Thailand, Japan... expressed their emotions and strong impressions of the scale, professionalism and profound significance of the 80th Anniversary of Vietnam's National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and the "Meeting to express gratitude to international friends on the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam".

In a letter to Mr. Phan Anh Son, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations , Mr. Lee Shin Jae, President of the Korea-Vietnam Friendship Association (KOVIFA), expressed that "it was a great honor to witness this historic event at Ba Dinh Square firsthand." He was deeply impressed by the scale of the ceremony, the magnificent parade, and the meticulous and perfect organization, and was moved by the spirit of solidarity and pride that permeated the entire event.

He also highly appreciated the significance of the International Friendship Meeting, affirming that the stories shared by representatives from many countries around the world at the event were truly inspiring. He said: "I will certainly share the warmth and generosity that Your Excellency has shown me with all members of KOVIFA. We are proud to be working alongside the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations in promoting friendship and cooperation between the two countries."

Mr. Boviengkham Vongdara, Minister of Technology and Communications of Laos and President of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association, expressed his deep emotion and impression of Vietnam's comprehensive growth, the unwavering solidarity of its people, and the rich cultural identity showcased in the parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnam's National Day at Ba Dinh Square on September 2nd.

Ms. Thoummaly Vongphachanh, Chairwoman of the National Assembly 's Judicial Committee and Vice President of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association, expressed admiration for the scale and professionalism of the commemorative activities. She highly praised the comprehensive, colorful, and emotionally rich success of the program, emphasizing that all activities were meticulously organized and flawless, demonstrating the thorough preparation and high sense of responsibility of the Organizing Committee.

Mr. Vann Phal, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Vice President of the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Association, was deeply moved by the sight of tens of thousands of people dressed in red, holding national flags, lining the streets to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Independence Day, demonstrating national unity and the aspiration for national reunification. He also praised the display of modern weapons at the National Achievements Exhibition, noting Vietnam's ability to firmly protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and affirming its increasingly developed defense capabilities. The presence of international guests at the event also demonstrated the extensive cooperation and support of international friends for Vietnam. All of this shows that Vietnam is not only a strong military and economic nation, but also consistently maintains a peaceful and friendly stance with its neighbors. He noted that the reception was thoughtful, respectful, and professional, reflecting Vietnam's increasingly prominent position on the international stage.

Chinese delegates also expressed their honor and deep impression of Vietnam's 80 years of national construction and development. Mr. Liu Honglin, Secretary of the Nanxi Mountain Hospital, said that the visit to the Vietnam History Museum and Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh province) helped them gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam's history, country, and people. Delegate Zhang Weiwei of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) affirmed his desire to "continue to strengthen cooperation, promote the traditional fraternal friendship," and accompany Vietnam on its path to modernization. Representatives from Guangxi University and the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Museum also highly appreciated the professionalism and dedication in organizing the event, and expressed their desire to expand cooperation in culture, education, science, and technology.

The Thai delegation noted that the National Day celebrations and the meeting to express gratitude to international friends were meaningful occasions to recall the historical milestones of Vietnam's struggle for independence, while also demonstrating appreciation and gratitude for the companionship and support of international friends. The delegation highly appreciated the thoughtfulness, hospitality, and professionalism of the organizing committee and was particularly impressed with the visit to the National History Museum, which provided insightful perspectives on the heroic nation-building and national defense of the Vietnamese people.

Mr. Niizuma Toichi, a member of the Executive Committee of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association, called this "an extremely special experience and a great honor in my life." He was moved by the sight of people lining the streets from early morning to watch the parade and march, expressing their patriotism and national pride. He also acknowledged the warm welcome from Quang Ninh province, along with the dedicated and thoughtful support of the officials of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, which allowed him to fully participate in the activities and deeply feel the solemn and friendly atmosphere of the event.
