Speaking at the event, Major General and musician Nguyen Duc Trinh - President of the Vietnam Musicians Association - emphasized that, in our country's proud 80-year journey, the spring of 1975 is a special milestone in the history of Vietnam's revolutionary struggle.
After years of division due to foreign invasions, the burning aspiration of the entire nation has become a reality; from now on, our country is reunited, and Vietnam is a unified nation.
The Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association stated that since the song "As if Uncle Ho were present on the day of the great victory" by composer Pham Tuyen was broadcast on the Voice of Vietnam radio station on April 30, 1975, tens of thousands of songs by generations of Vietnamese musicians have been written about the great historical event of our nation: the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country.
"With overflowing emotions and genuine hearts, the musicians composed works that vividly and richly reflected the lives of our people after the years of war."
"At the same time, we celebrate the heroic traditions of the nation, praise our homeland that is changing day by day, praise and express gratitude to the heroic martyrs, and celebrate the love between couples," he said.
According to Mr. Trinh, the Vietnam Musicians Association organized an event to honor, promote, and affirm the immense value of representative musical works in particular and the contributions of revolutionary music in general, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Vietnamese music after the country's reunification.
He further shared: "Based on the voting results from the Vietnam Musicians' Association branches nationwide, the Organizing Committee has selected 50 outstanding songs and 5 outstanding instrumental and operatic works to honor on this year's Vietnam Music Day. This is a celebration honoring Vietnamese music, bringing together and spreading the best things to everyone."
At the event, the audience enjoyed musical performances directed and produced by musician Nguyen Duc Trinh, featuring many famous artists such as: People's Artist Quoc Hung, People's Artist Duc Long, Ngo Huong Diep, Minh Toi, Tung Lam, Trinh Phuong, Duong Duc, Hoang Anh, Nhat Huyen, Thu Thuy, Thu Ba…

Among them, the song "As if Uncle Ho were present on the day of great victory " by composer Pham Tuyen is also one of the 50 works honored this time.
The song "As if Uncle Ho were present on the day of the great victory" was completed by Pham Tuyen on the night of April 28, 1975, and first broadcast on the Voice of Vietnam radio station on April 30, 1975.
Just two days after the victory, the song was printed in the Nhan Dan newspaper, issue dated May 2, 1975. Newspaper pages spread the song to provinces across the country, gradually making it familiar to audiences nationwide.
Notably, the song "This Earth Belongs to Us" (music by Truong Quang Luc, lyrics by Dinh Hai) is the only children's song in the top 50 most representative songs after the reunification of the country.
The song has a cheerful and bright melody, expressing love for the earth and the spirit of solidarity among children worldwide, thereby conveying a message of peace and equality among nations.
Accordingly, "This Earth Belongs to Us" is a song composed by musician Truong Quang Luc in response to a competition for new children's songs, launched by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the Vietnam Committee for the International Year of the Child.
This song was created in 1979, with only six lines, but its melody has become familiar to many generations of Vietnamese children.
