Honoring 55 outstanding musical works in the 50 years after reunification

Since the time the song "As if Uncle Ho were here on the day of great victory" was broadcast on Voice of Vietnam radio, there have been tens of thousands of songs written by generations of Vietnamese musicians about the nation's historical events.

On the evening of September 3, the art program "Melody of the Fatherland" to celebrate Vietnam Music Day and honor typical musical works in the 50 years since the country's reunification took place at the Hanoi Opera House.

The event was organized by the Vietnam Musicians Association, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2, and to celebrate Vietnam Music Day September 3, 2025.

At the program, Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association Nguyen Duc Trinh emphasized that in the 80-year journey of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2, our country had the Spring of 1975 as a special milestone in the history of Vietnam's revolutionary struggle, after many years of being divided by foreign invasions, the burning desire of the entire people became a reality, from here our country returned to one strip, Vietnam was unified.

Since the time the song "As if Uncle Ho were here on the great victory day" by musician Pham Tuyen was broadcast on the Voice of Vietnam radio , on April 30, 1975, over the past 50 years, there have been tens of thousands of songs written by generations of Vietnamese musicians about the great historical event of our nation: Liberating the South, unifying the country, entering the era of national independence, building and defending the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam, the era of national growth.

With overflowing emotions and sincere hearts, the musicians wrote works that vividly and richly reflect the lives of our people after the war years, praising the heroic traditions of the nation, praising the homeland that is renewing day by day, praising and showing gratitude to heroic martyrs, praising love...

The Vietnam Musicians Association organized to honor, promote and affirm the great values ​​of typical musical works in particular and the contributions of revolutionary music in general, on the occasion of summarizing 50 years of Vietnamese music after the country's reunification.

From the voting results of the Vietnamese Musicians Associations nationwide, the Organizing Committee has selected 50 typical songs and 5 typical instrumental and musical works to honor on this year's Vietnam Music Day - a festival honoring Vietnamese Music - Converging and spreading the best things to everyone.

Within the framework of the art program "Melody of the Fatherland", the Vietnam Musicians Association honored and awarded certificates to 55 typical musical works from the period 1975-2025, including 50 typical songs and 5 typical chamber symphonies.

At the program, the Organizing Committee introduced to the public some typical songs honored this time such as: "Melody of the Fatherland" by musician Tran Tien, "Flowers in Uncle Ho's Garden" by musician Van Dung, "Spring Melody" (poem by Luu Trong Lu, music by Cao Viet Bach), "Country" by Pham Minh Tuan, "Duo Huong-Son", excerpted from Act 1 of Opera "Red Leaves" by musician Do Hong Quan, "Love of the Red Land of the East" by musician Tran Long An, "Spring Echoes of Tri An" by musician Ton That Lap, "Sea Village Communal House" by musician Nguyen Cuong, "Remembering Hanoi " by musician Hoang Hiep, "Milk Flower" by Hong Dang, "Windy Night in Hanoi" by Trong Dai (lyrics by Chu Lai-Trong Dai), "Boat and Sea" (poem by Xuan Quynh, music by Phan Huynh Dieu), "This Earth is Ours" (lyrics by Dinh Hai, music by Truong Quang Luc), "Love of the Sea" by musician Nguyen Duc Toan, “The Fatherland Calls My Name” (poem by Nguyen Phan Que Mai, music by Dinh Trung Can), Medley “Spring in Ho Chi Minh City” (Xuan Hong) and “Vietnam, Spring Has Come” by Huy Du...

The program ended with the song "Like having Uncle Ho on the great victory day" by musician Pham Tuyen, concluding an emotional, profound and majestic music night about love for the Fatherland, love between people and beautiful nature.

The art program "Melody of the Fatherland" is directed by Major General, musician Duc Trinh in charge of content, art direction and director; the program has the participation of Associate Professor, Doctor, Musician Do Hong Quan; People's Artists: Pham Ngoc Khoi, Quoc Hung, Duc Long; singers Lam Phong, Nhat Huyen, Mai Chi, Hoang Anh, Hien Xuan, Thu Ba, Hong Chinh, Duong Duc, Khuc Xuan Duc, Ngo Huong Diep (Soprano) and Minh Toi (Tenor), the Childhood Stars Club, the female choir of the Air Defense - Air Force Art Troupe.../.
