Mr. Pham Thanh Binh, Director of the Northeast Asia Department, has been appointed by the Prime Minister to the position of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs .
Mr. Binh's term of appointment is 5 years. Prior to this, he served as the former Minister Counselor - second in command - at the Vietnamese Embassy in China. Upon completing his term in July 2021, he returned to Vietnam and held the position of deputy director before becoming director of the Northeast Asia Department.

The current Minister of Foreign Affairs is Mr. Bui Thanh Son. The six Deputy Ministers are Mr. and Mrs. Nguyen Minh Vu (permanent), Ha Kim Ngoc, Le Thi Thu Hang, Do Hung Viet, Nguyen Minh Hang, and Pham Thanh Binh.
