Improving the quality of Party members

At Giồng Riềng High School, the recruitment of student Party members is implemented systematically, prioritizing quality over quantity. The Party Secretary and Principal of Giồng Riềng High School, Đàm Thanh Lạc, affirmed: “We don’t chase quotas. Students selected for Party membership must be outstanding Youth Union members, have excellent academic records for many years, or possess outstanding achievements; they must also have good moral character and a sense of responsibility towards the collective.”

From the time students reach 10th grade, the Youth Union of Giong Rieng High School, in coordination with homeroom teachers, reviews and selects outstanding students for monitoring and training. In 11th and 12th grades, they continue to screen and recruit new members, eliminating those lacking the will to strive. Thanks to this rigorous approach, during the 2020-2025 term, the Party Branch of Giong Rieng High School admitted 97 new Party members, achieving 388% of the resolution's target. “In the future, the school will continue to strengthen Party development among students, increasing both the number and quality of Party members, ensuring that the young Party members admitted are truly outstanding Youth Union members. The school will connect outstanding young Party members currently studying at universities to return to the school to meet with and motivate students,” Mr. Dam Thanh Lac shared.

Changes resulting from thematic activities

In An Bien commune, the "Four Good Party Branch" model has been widely implemented. A prime example is the Tay Son 1 hamlet Party Branch, which has seen many positive changes since 2022. The Party Branch Secretary and Head of Tay Son 1 hamlet, Thieu Thi Phuong, stated: "The Party Branch maintains regular meetings as per regulations, while also developing thematic meeting plans that are relevant to practical situations." Since the beginning of the year, the Tay Son 1 hamlet Party Branch has developed thematic meeting plans, selecting practical topics such as mobilizing support for the construction of flower-lined roads, rural street lighting projects, collective economic development, and participation in health insurance… Each quarter, the Party Branch organizes implementation, clearly assigning responsibilities, and conducting a review at the end of each quarter to draw lessons learned. The Party Branch assigns 15 Party members to oversee 435 households, regularly monitoring their concerns and encouraging the people to comply with policies and guidelines. 100% of Party members set a good example, with no violations. As a result, many policies were quickly implemented, the face of rural areas was transformed, and people's lives were improved.

Following the Party Committee's directives, from 2022 to the present, the mass organizations of Tay Son 1 hamlet have coordinated to open training courses and transfer technical knowledge; and organized two vocational training classes for 58 farmers. Collective economic development has been encouraged, with one agricultural service cooperative and two irrigation pumping cooperatives, attracting 127 members, linking production on 262 hectares of rice, helping farmers reduce costs and increase profits.

Alongside economic development, Tay Son 1 hamlet has seen many changes in infrastructure construction. Trusting in the Party's leadership, the people have wholeheartedly contributed to many projects in the hamlet. The people have contributed to building three new rural bridges, concreting over 2.7 km of roads, and installing solar-powered streetlights along 2.6 km of rural roads. The number of poor households in the hamlet has decreased from 19 in 2022 to only 2 today. For many years, the Party branch has been recognized for successfully completing its tasks. Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhan, a resident of the hamlet, shared: “Now there is a clean, beautiful concrete road in front of my house, making it convenient for vehicles and safer for my children to go to school. My family is very happy; we clearly see the Party's concern for the people.”
