It is expected that by 2025, Vietnamese aviation will transport about 84 million passengers.
In 2021, the total air transport market reached only nearly 16 million passengers; by 2024, this number had grown nearly 5 times, reaching more than 75 million passengers. It is expected that in 2025, Vietnamese aviation will transport about 84 million passengers.
More and more passengers choose to travel by air.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam recognizes: The fact that more and more passengers choose air travel as a means of transportation shows the increasing demand for international travel and trade and the positive role of air transport activities, contributing to the socio -economic development and tourism of Vietnam.
Regarding the expansion of the international flight network, data from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam shows that by 2025, Vietnam's international flight network will not only be fully restored but also increase from 130 routes (before the COVID-19 pandemic) to 150 routes connecting to more than 30 countries and territories.
Many direct flights to distant markets such as Europe and North America have been researched by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and new agreements have been signed, creating the premise for future exploitation.
Domestically, the domestic flight network is optimized, operating frequency on main routes increases and airlines continuously open new routes to localities with tourism potential.
More airlines, more choices for passengers
Besides the Vietnamese airlines that have previously entered the market ( Vietnam Airlines , Vietjet Air, Pacific Airlines, Bamboo Airways), a bright spot showing the vitality and potential of the Vietnamese aviation market is the birth of two new airlines: VietravelAirlines and SunPhuQuoc Airways.
Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam Uong Viet Dung commented: The birth of two new airlines shows the attractiveness of the Vietnamese aviation market. At the same time, it opens up new development opportunities, contributes to diversifying the market, creating healthy competition, encouraging airlines to improve service quality, diversify products and reduce ticket prices to passengers. At the same time, the development of air transport activities will also have a spillover effect, promoting continued investment, developing transport infrastructure and stimulating tourism, contributing to the development of local and regional economies.
