Shooting at a residential party in the US, many casualties

Fox News reported on July 2nd that a shooting at a neighborhood party in Baltimore, Maryland, left at least two people dead and 28 injured.

The incident occurred when hundreds of people in the Brooklyn Homes neighborhood south of Baltimore gathered for "Brooklyn Day." Police and emergency personnel responded to the scene in the 800 block of Gretna Avenue after receiving a report around 0:30 a.m. on July 2 (local time).

In a press conference following the incident, Baltimore police officer Rich Worley stated that 30 people were shot, including two fatalities and three in critical condition.

The gunman opened fire at a neighborhood party and has not yet been apprehended. Some victims were taken to the hospital by ambulance, while others were transported in private vehicles.

"The entire city of Baltimore is grieving for the lives lost, and our hearts go out to all those recovering from this mass shooting," Mayor Brandon Scott said at a press conference.

He said authorities are conducting an investigation. "Our homicide investigators will continue working until they find out what happened. What we know this morning is that this was a cowardly act that cost two people their lives and affected the lives of many others," he said.

According to Mr. Worley, the perpetrator remains at large and their motive is unclear, while investigators are working diligently. Witnesses reported hearing around 20-30 gunshots. "The gunshots just kept going on," one witness recounted.

Mayor Scott and police are urging the public to come forward with any information to help find the perpetrator of the shooting.
