Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu chaired the workshop. Also attending the workshop were many former leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassadors; leaders of research institutes, representatives of many departments, ministries, branches, central agencies and experts and scientists.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu pointed out that in the context of profound changes in the world and regional situation, Vietnam's continued promotion of synchronous, comprehensive and extensive international integration has become an objective and strategic requirement, requiring the participation of the political system.

In the draft Political Report of the 14th National Congress up to now and in Resolution No. 59 of the Politburo on international integration in the new situation, it is clearly stated that the guiding viewpoint of foreign affairs and international integration is an "important and regular" task.

However, to meet the increasingly high goals and tasks of national development, the implementation of foreign affairs and international integration needs to overcome a number of difficulties and bottlenecks, especially in terms of mechanisms and resources.

On that basis, the Resolution of the National Assembly will be an important legal document, creating a framework for the implementation of special and breakthrough policies and mechanisms to remove bottlenecks, maximize opportunities and improve the effectiveness of the country's international integration, as well as help the entire political system be more flexible in adapting to international standards, attracting resources and improving national competitiveness. This is not only the task of the Foreign Affairs sector, but also the common task of the staff working on foreign affairs and international integration in the political system, from the central to local levels.

Through two discussion sessions of the Workshop, delegates contributed many enthusiastic, frank and substantive opinions, pointing out bottlenecks that need to be removed, limitations that need to be overcome and proposing many breakthrough and practical mechanisms, policies and solutions for international integration.

This is a valuable source of information, an important scientific and practical basis for the Drafting Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to continue researching and developing the draft Resolution.

At the same time, the Workshop also provided practical suggestions and proposals on mechanisms, policies and resources to create breakthroughs in implementing foreign affairs and international integration in the coming time.
