Building a plan to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day

The year 2023 was significant, laying the foundation for achieving the goals set forth in the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party and the Resolution of the 17th Congress of the Hanoi City Party Committee. Amidst a mix of favorable and challenging circumstances, and closely following the guidance and direction of the Central Committee, as well as the practical situation of the Capital and the country, the city's press work achieved many important results.

Hanoi's press agencies have actively innovated the content and form of their propaganda. They have provided timely and comprehensive information and coverage of important issues and events in the capital and the country, contributing to social consensus. They have intensified the dissemination of Party directives and resolutions into daily life. Emphasis has been placed on information and propaganda regarding Party building and rectification, the fight against corruption, waste, and negative phenomena; and on protecting the Party's ideological foundation and refuting the erroneous views of hostile forces.

The capital's press will publicize the direction, management, and implementation of tasks and solutions for socio -economic recovery and development. It will also promote cultural development, the building of elegant and civilized Hanoi citizens, and examples of good people and good deeds.

The results of media propaganda have made a significant contribution to shaping ideology, creating unity within the Party, consensus and trust in society, and encouraging and motivating cadres, Party members, and the people to resolutely overcome difficulties and successfully implement the tasks and targets of socio-economic development in 2023.

The guidance and direction of press information continued to be effective, with many innovations towards a proactive, flexible, timely, and persuasive approach, and with increasingly improved quality. State management of press activities in the city was strengthened. City press agencies made many innovations in organizing their operations; increased responsibility, guidance, and management of reporters; and reviewed, developed, and strictly implemented publishing procedures. Many press agencies actively innovated and adopted modern journalistic technologies to improve the effectiveness of information and propaganda.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Pham Thanh Hoc, suggested that in 2024, agencies responsible for directing, managing, and overseeing the city's press should strengthen their guidance and management of the press. They should continue to innovate in press management according to the motto "proactive, timely, persuasive, and effective."

This includes improving the quality and effectiveness of coordination among agencies directing and managing the press, and between these agencies and the governing bodies of press agencies. Simultaneously, a plan will be developed to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), aiming to recall the glorious traditions, significant contributions, and noble mission of Vietnam's revolutionary press in general and Hanoi's press in particular.
