Building an increasingly solid national defense posture

Building and consolidating the national defense posture firmly in association with the people's security posture; paying attention to developing party members in the militia force... are important tasks given at the conference to review local defense work, defense and security education work in 2025, and deploy tasks in 2026, organized by the People's Committee of Lang Son province on the afternoon of December 4.

Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Canh Toan suggested that in the coming time, Party committees, authorities, departments, branches and sectors from the province to the grassroots level continue to thoroughly grasp and implement the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels and the Party's policies and guidelines on national defense work; raise awareness and responsibility of Party committees, authorities, cadres, Party members and people on national defense and security tasks in the context of organizing two-level local governments. Along with that, strengthen the leadership and direction of Party committees and authorities on local defense work, complete the military recruitment target for 2026 and organize drills at all levels to ensure quality, safety and efficiency.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province requested local levels to continue improving the quality of activities of the National Defense and Security Education Council and the Military Service Council; complete the target of training in national defense and security knowledge; build a team of key cadres of the provincial armed forces. Especially pay attention to developing party members in the militia; deploy civil defense measures; well implement the regime and policies for the armed forces and the military rear; promote emulation movements: "Repaying gratitude", "All people unite to build a cultural life", "Building new rural areas"...

In 2025, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Lang Son province focused on comprehensively and effectively leading and directing local defense tasks; well performing the State management function on defense; closely combining economic and social development with strengthening and consolidating national defense and security; strictly maintaining combat readiness to maintain political security, social order and safety, and national border sovereignty. Thereby, completing the target of training in defense and security knowledge, completing 100% of the target of military recruitment with good quality; well implementing the military rear policy, contributing to building and firmly consolidating the all-people defense posture associated with the people's security posture...

The militia and self-defense force has coordinated to organize patrols to protect political security and social order and safety in the area more than 11,000 times with the participation of over 24,000 officers and soldiers; participated in natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue, forest fire prevention and fighting with over 30,600 officers; disseminated knowledge of national defense and security education to the entire population in over 1,500 times with nearly 52,000 people...

The collectives received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in performing local defense work in 2025.

At the conference, 14 collectives and 13 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in performing local defense work in 2025. On this occasion, authorized by the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, representatives of the Party Committee and the Military Region 1 Command presented the statue "Portrait of President Ho Chi Minh" to the communes and wards of Lang Son province.
