At the seminar "Branding - Soft Power for Vietnamese Businesses" organized by Saigon Giai Phong newspaper on June 27th, Ms. Vo Thi Lien Huong - General Director of Secoin Joint Stock Company - stated that the company's products are already present in many countries around the world such as Spain, Mexico, Brazil… and the company continues to strive to establish its name on the export map.

"However, when we go global, people are interested in Vietnamese products, not individual brands; that's the essence of national branding. Therefore, when developing the story of green trade, it's not enough for just one business to implement it; we must build a green business community so that when people think of Vietnamese goods, they think of green products first," Ms. Huong said.

Agreeing strongly with this view, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoa, chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Business Association (HUBA), believes that the green transformation process needs to be implemented synchronously. We need a green forest – an entire Vietnamese community working together, not just a few trees – to improve Vietnam's manufacturing image in the global market.

"And when it comes to green forests, it's not just the primary role of businesses, but also the management role of the State. Because for businesses to transition to green, investment is mandatory and resources are needed," Mr. Hoa emphasized.

The greening process of a business needs to be linked to its vision, because only when businesses understand this will they realize that "without greening, there is no future." This requires immense determination and perseverance from the business, coupled with investment in technology, changes in production processes, workforce, and awareness.

Ho Chi Minh City has the advantage of having recently had Resolution 98 passed by the National Assembly. This also serves as the basis for the City People's Council to issue Resolution 09 on interest rate support for investment projects financed by HFIC in priority socio -economic development sectors in the city, allowing for 100% interest rate support for green transformation and digital transformation activities.

Mr. Hoa suggested that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee should soon issue a decision to implement this resolution to facilitate access to capital for businesses. In addition, international financial institutions are also developing green financing programs, allowing businesses to access favorable interest rates to implement the green interest rate process.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc, chairman of the Vietnam Retailers Association, believes that Vietnamese goods in the domestic market have undergone positive changes, firmly adhering to the green trend, and are therefore well-received by consumers.

While pursuing green practices used to involve cost trade-offs, now greening aims to protect competitiveness and maintain opportunities for production and international sales. Having green products makes it easier to enter global supply chains, and this also serves as a powerful global "green passport" for businesses.
