Fined 7.5 million VND for an individual posting false information about a business in Quang Binh

(CLO) Tran Thanh L. used two Facebook accounts to post false information about Quang Binh Auto Supermarket, causing negative public opinion.


On March 14, the Internal Political Security Department, Quang Binh Provincial Police announced that the unit had issued a decision to administratively fine Tran Thanh L. (born in 1993, residing in Quarter 4, Ba Don Ward, Ba Don Town, Quang Binh Province) 7.5 million VND for providing and sharing fake, untrue, distorted, slanderous information, and insulting the reputation of agencies, organizations as well as the honor and dignity of individuals.

According to the authorities, on March 10 and 11, 2025, Tran Thanh L. used two Facebook accounts named “Tran L..” and “Nhi K..” to post many false articles in social media groups. These articles were related to the activities of Quang Binh Auto Supermarket, owned by Mr. Hoang Van Binh (residing in Dai Trach commune, Bo Trach district).

The posted information has had a negative impact, creating incorrect public opinion about this business. After being worked with by the authorities, Tran Thanh L. clearly recognized the violation, voluntarily removed the false content and pledged not to repeat the offense.

Pursuant to Point a, Clause 1, Article 101, Decree No. 15/2020/ND-CP of the Government on administrative sanctions in the fields of post, telecommunications, information technology and network information security, Quang Binh Provincial Police have issued a decision to administratively sanction Tran Thanh L. with an amount of 7.5 million VND.

Quang Binh Provincial Police also advises people to be cautious when writing, sharing or commenting on social networks, especially with unverified information. Spreading false information not only causes public confusion but also affects the reputation, rights and legitimate interests of organizations and individuals. Violations will be strictly handled according to the law.
