In order to restore the economy after the COVID-19 pandemic and stimulate domestic consumption, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade has been implementing synchronous, flexible and creative solutions to promote trade, support enterprises and cooperatives to expand their markets. The programs have supported the introduction of typical local products, contributing to creating a habit for people to prioritize using Vietnamese goods.

Support promotion and expand consumer market

Following the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister on socio-economic recovery and development after the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Industry and Trade has proactively advised the Provincial People's Committee to synchronously, drastically and effectively deploy many solutions. The Department directed the Center for Creative Trade Promotion to innovate consumption stimulus models, support enterprises, cooperatives, cooperative groups, production and business establishments to expand consumption markets, promote brands and products to domestic and foreign consumers, thereby finding partners.

The organization of the exhibition fairs "One Commune One Product - Thai Nguyen 2022", "Industry and Trade Fair - OCOP Thai Nguyen 2023", the market "Bringing Vietnamese goods to the mountainous areas", the program "Stimulating domestic consumption associated with the Campaign for Vietnamese people to prioritize using Vietnamese goods" has supported many enterprises and cooperatives to introduce, promote, consume products, and expand the market.

As a business owner who has been working with the Trade Promotion Center (Department of Industry and Trade) for many years, Mr. Duong The Hung, Director of Aloha Thai Nguyen Supermarket, excitedly said: Through programs to stimulate consumption, promote the Campaign for Vietnamese people to prioritize using Vietnamese goods, the provincial Trade Promotion Center has provided good support to businesses and cooperatives. Participating in these programs, we are supported with booths to display and sell products, part of the cost of transporting goods, introducing products, livestreaming sales... For each program, we select about 200 essential product codes such as: Food, cosmetics, fashion, household goods of domestic origin to promote, introduce, and sell to consumers.

In 2022 and 9 months of 2023, the Department of Industry and Trade has supported and connected to create conditions for about 550 enterprises, cooperatives, cooperative groups, production and business establishments to directly participate or send goods to participate in fairs, trade promotion programs, connecting supply and demand of goods, promoting and introducing products in provinces and cities across the country such as: Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Hanoi, Phu Tho, Ha Nam, Da Nang, Kon Tum, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang...

Recently, the Department of Industry and Trade organized a booth to introduce 50 typical products of the province at the 2nd Global Overseas Vietnamese Economic Forum and connect local cooperation and Vietnamese-Kyusu (Japan) enterprises, with the participation of the provincial delegation led by Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai.

The province's typical products displayed and introduced were highly appreciated by foreign enterprises and provincial leaders. Thereby, hundreds of contracts for product consumption and distribution were signed with supermarkets, trade centers, domestic and foreign distributors...

Create a habit of using Vietnamese products

The campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" and the market "Bringing Vietnamese goods to the mountains", as well as the domestic consumption stimulus program, are continued to be expanded in depth by the Department of Industry and Trade, increasing both quantity and quality.

In 2022, the Department of Industry and Trade organized the program "Stimulating domestic consumption in conjunction with the Campaign for Vietnamese people to prioritize using Vietnamese goods" in Phu Binh and Phu Luong districts; 3 "Bringing Vietnamese goods to the mountainous areas" markets in Dai Tu district, Song Cong city and Pho Yen city, attracting over 18,000 visitors, with total sales of up to 3 billion VND. These programs have mobilized many resources to give gifts worth over 200 million VND to disadvantaged families and poor students who have overcome difficulties.

Ms. Duong Thi Hai in Tan Thanh commune, Phu Binh, excitedly said: Visiting the "Bringing Vietnamese goods to the mountains" market in the commune recently, I and many people bought many products produced by domestic enterprises. I understand that as a patriotic Vietnamese, we need to prioritize using goods produced by domestic enterprises, which have been inspected by competent agencies, are assured of quality and the prices are also very reasonable.

This October, the Department of Industry and Trade directed the Trade Promotion Center to coordinate with the People's Committees of Phu Binh and Phu Luong districts to organize 2 programs "Bringing Vietnamese goods to the mountainous areas" and 2 programs "Stimulating domestic consumption associated with the Campaign for Vietnamese people to prioritize using Vietnamese goods" in Dai Tu district and Song Cong city.

According to Mr. Nguyen Khanh Toan, Director of the Provincial Trade Promotion Center: In the coming time, the Center will continue to advise the Department of Industry and Trade to flexibly, creatively, and effectively implement trade promotion activities, actively support, accompany, and remove difficulties for enterprises and cooperatives, ensure market stability, and promote production and business. Currently, the Center is focusing on implementing important trade promotion activities assigned by the Provincial People's Committee such as: "Program to promote and connect the consumption of Phu Binh Hill Chicken products and agricultural products of Thai Nguyen province 2023"; "Festival of Agricultural Products, OCOP, Craft Villages Connecting Tourism - Thai Nguyen 2023"; Program "Promoting the colors of agricultural products in the 4.0 period - Thai Nguyen 2023".

Currently, there are over 2,600 products from more than 240 units, including 173 OCOP products, 60 typical rural industrial products of the province are supported to be put on domestic and foreign e-commerce platforms such as: Voso.vn, Postmart.vn, Lazada.vn; Tiki.vn; Sendo.vn, Alibaba.com; Amazon.com...
