According to Neowin , if the user's internet connection is fine, it seems the problem could be related to performance and hardware optimization for Firefox, such as poor hardware acceleration support or various other issues related to system resources.
YouTube running on Firefox "delays" 5 seconds compared to Chrome
The problem is, users noticed a 5-second delay when loading YouTube videos on Firefox, which disappeared when YouTube was tricked into thinking the video was running on Chrome using a User Agent switcher. This suggests that YouTube appears to be intentionally slowing down Firefox – a Chrome competitor.
In fact, the incident is not too surprising as similar allegations occasionally appear as browser companies always come up with measures to compete for market share or increase user numbers. With Google owning Chrome and YouTube, the company has every reason to limit access speeds to the largest video social network today on rival browsers.
This issue does not occur when using uBlock Origin, so if users are annoyed by YouTube loading in 5 seconds on Firefox and do not want to use an alternative User Agent solution, uBlock can be used.
