According to statistics from the Bac Ninh Provincial Women's Union, due to the impact of Typhoon No. 3, 32 women's startup projects in the province were affected by the storm and floods, with total estimated losses of nearly 27 billion VND.
Specifically, Yen Phong and Tien Du districts and Thuan Thanh town each have 2 projects; Que Vo district has 5 projects, Luong Tai district has 7 projects, Bac Ninh city has 4 projects, and Gia Binh district has 10 projects.
The projects that suffered the most damage were mainly in the agricultural sector, such as organic farming, livestock breeding, and aquaculture.
Typical examples include: Ms. Nguyen Thi Le's organic orange farming project, covering 36,000 m² (Hoai Thuong commune, Thuan Thanh town), suffered losses of 10,200 trees, with an estimated total damage of 6 billion VND. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy's cage fish farming model on the river (Trung Kenh commune, Luong Tai district) suffered losses of over 4.3 billion VND.
The production and processing model of products from HDPE plastic granules owned by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu (Binh Dinh commune, Luong Tai district) suffered a factory collapse and damaged machinery, with estimated losses of 1 billion VND.
The model of growing grass and fruit trees combined with fish farming implemented by Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang (Van Duong ward, Bac Ninh city) resulted in the destruction of 7,000 trees; 6,000 m² of Japanese grass and 10 hectares of fish ponds were flooded, causing damage estimated at approximately 1.7 billion VND.
Anh Cuong Agricultural Cooperative (Dai Dong Thanh commune, Thuan Thanh town), with a total farm area of over 18,000 m2 , lost approximately 14 tons of marketable fish ready for harvest, 1000 chickens and ducks, and fruit trees, with total losses estimated at around 1.5 billion VND…
Many agricultural models run by women in Gia Binh suffered heavy losses, such as: the model of Vu Thi Su, Binh Duong commune, where over 5,800 m² of greenhouses and 5.8 hectares of crops collapsed, resulting in losses of 1.6 billion VND; the Luong Ngoc High-Tech Agricultural Cooperative, run by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, Lang Ngam commune, suffered the collapse of 7,600 m² of greenhouses and the damage to 24,500 kg of melons, with estimated losses of 1.68 billion VND. The model of Ms. Vu Thi Thuan, Cao Duc commune, affected 2 hectares of aquaculture and 6 hectares of crops, resulting in losses of 1.5 billion VND...
In addition to effectively carrying out post-storm prevention and mitigation efforts, the Women's Union at all levels mobilized members, women, and the public to assist in evacuating property, harvesting, and selling agricultural and aquatic products with a spirit of responsibility and sharing. Through assessments, it was found that most agricultural and rural development projects faced numerous difficulties and pressures, especially regarding capital, bank interest rates, and production disruptions.
Women hope that all levels and sectors will soon have appropriate mechanisms and policies to support and create motivation for women to recover, resume operations, and stabilize production and business.
