7 fishing boats and 3 fishing boats sank on Ca Ty river

On the morning of October 27, due to the previous heavy rain combined with water pouring in from upstream, an incident occurred on the Ca Ty River, passing through Phan Thiet Ward, Lam Dong Province. 7 fishing boats had their mooring lines broken and drifted freely, while 3 unattended fishing boats sank.

At around 7am, at Tran Hung Dao bridge area (Phan Thiet ward), strong currents caused anchored fishing boats to break their ropes and drift downstream.

People living along the river discovered it in time, informed the ship owner and mobilized a boat to tow the boat to safety. Meanwhile, three boat boats anchored near the foot of the bridge were submerged.

Near the foot of Tran Hung Dao bridge, there were 3 baskets of bottles submerged.

The cause was determined to be continuous heavy rain and strong water flow from upstream, increasing the flow rate.

At around 10am, the water was still flowing rapidly, fishermen continued to check and reinforce boats to limit damage.

Authorities recommend that fishermen not anchor their boats in mid-stream and proactively move their vehicles to a safe place.

People living along the river should limit travel and closely monitor weather developments, especially in the coming days of heavy rain and floods.
