Based on the actual situation, by the end of August 2025, the vaccination rate of some vaccines in the Expanded Immunization Program in Lam Dong province is still low (below 60%), especially BCG (tuberculosis), neonatal hepatitis B, Rota (to prevent acute diarrhea) vaccines... This situation poses a potential risk of not achieving the 2025 plan target and increases the risk of outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases.
To quickly improve the coverage rate, Lam Dong Provincial Department of Health requested the Provincial Center for Disease Control to preside over and coordinate with local authorities and regional and special zone health centers to comprehensively review vaccination work; identify areas with low vaccination rates, analyze the causes and propose solutions to improve the coverage rate according to the set schedule.
Regional and special zone health centers urgently review and organize catch-up vaccinations to ensure that no subjects in the expanded immunization program are left out. Vaccinations must be carried out safely and in accordance with regulations, with a focus on polio vaccines in the context of the World Health Organization (WHO) recording a number of cases in Southeast Asia.
The health sector also strengthens communication about the role and benefits of vaccines; coordinates with press agencies, radio, television and the grassroots political system to mobilize people to vaccinate their children on schedule and with the right doses. Directors of health centers are directly responsible for vaccination results in their management areas; in cases where the vaccination rate is low for a long time, the Department of Health will consider and handle responsibilities according to regulations.
