Prolonged rain and floods cause serious landslides, threatening dozens of households along Linh River.

Ham Thanh Commune is one of the localities in Lam Dong that has suffered heavy damage due to prolonged rain and floods since the afternoon of October 26, with total estimated damage of about 2.36 billion VND. According to the People's Committee of Ham Thanh Commune, the Linh River bank in the area is currently continuing to erode seriously, directly threatening the houses, property and lives of about 100 households living along the river.

Prolonged heavy rains and large amounts of water caused the river water level to rise, causing flooding and landslides in the area along the Linh River and streams in the area. As a result, many households in the villages of Dan Cuong, Dan Hoa, Ham Can 1, Ham Can 2 and Ham Can 3 were flooded, including 17 households with an average depth of about 30 cm. To date, the water has receded, with no human casualties recorded.

Regarding agriculture , floods have caused severe damage to crop areas along the Linh River and streams. About 80 hectares of dragon fruit of 150 households were affected, with estimated damage of more than 2 billion VND; 25 hectares of rice and corn of 63 households were flooded, with damage of about 360 million VND. The total preliminary damage of the whole commune is estimated at about 2.36 billion VND.

Heavy rains also cut off many traffic routes. Specifically, the overflow sewers in My Thanh 1 and My Thanh 2 villages were deeply flooded, isolating 281 households; two overflow sewers in Suoi Thi were heavily flooded, cutting off the travel routes of more than 500 households.

Faced with the above situation, the People's Committee of Ham Thanh commune has directed the Civil Defense Command and the Village Executive Board to proactively implement the "4 on-site" motto, promptly overcoming the consequences of natural disasters. The shock forces have supported people in evacuating their assets, regulating traffic in deeply flooded and landslide areas; at the same time, instructing people not to move through dangerous areas such as Bom Bi overflow culvert, Suoi Thi bridge and Song Linh bridge. At the same time, the commune government is reviewing and counting the damage to promptly support people in stabilizing their lives and production.

Ham Thanh Commune People's Committee has proposed that the province consider and allocate funds from the Natural Disaster Prevention and Control Fund to support the locality in overcoming consequences and ensuring safety for people during the flood season.
