On October 27, the Department of Performing Arts and the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) had a working session on the recent appearance of many songs with offensive lyrics and cultural deviations.
At the working session on October 27, Director of the Department of Performing Arts Nguyen Xuan Bac said that the management agency clearly expressed its spirit and viewpoint in handling deviant manifestations in performing activities in recent times.
“There are artists performing songs outside the licensed list, not complying with the regulations of the competent authority. The Department has requested relevant units to review and report specifically for strict handling,” Mr. Bac said.
Mr. Le Quang Tu Do, Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, said that the two units have proactively exchanged information when detecting illegal content on cyberspace.

“The Ministry’s viewpoint is very clear: We must strictly rectify and restore order in cyberspace, especially cross-border platforms, so as not to cause negative impacts on the community, especially the youth. Artists are a group with great influence, so they need to be more aware and exemplary in their speech and actions,” Mr. Tu Do emphasized.
According to Mr. Tu Do, through the inspection process, the Department found that some songs showed signs of violating regulations on content, containing offensive and uncultured language.
Some performance organizers, when asked to explain, have shown signs of defense and lack of goodwill. Some songs have controversial lyrics, considered obscene, but the artist management side claims it is a misunderstanding.
Mr. Le Quang Tu Do also quoted some lyrics from Jack's song such as "Those who don't like me in real life, how dare they. I sing for fun, more than a lifetime of working...".
Regarding the sentence considered obscene in this song, Mr. Tu Do said that this sentence had been used quite a lot on the internet before.
With the singer's management unit's explanation, the Department listened to it over and over again, slowed down to listen and confirmed that the management unit's explanation was a sign of defense.
Management agencies agree: We must resolutely restore discipline in performing arts activities, especially on the internet - where cultural products spread quickly and have a strong influence on young people.
Previously, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee sent Official Dispatch No. 69-CV/BTGDVTU to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association, the Ho Chi Minh City Council for Literature and Arts Theory and Criticism, and the city's press agencies, requesting guidance and rectification of musical activities that show signs of cultural deviation.
In the dispatch, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee stated that recently, there have been many worrying signs in the music scene. Some young singers have composed, performed and spread songs on social networks with sloppy, offensive and vulgar musical language; and used impure Vietnamese.
Many songs turn music into a place to vent anger, criticize, and attack each other; express arrogance, lack of civility, lack of professional ethics; even have elements that promote the use of illegal substances, promiscuous lifestyles, gangsterism, and social evils.
The Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee mentioned a number of specific cases such as: singer Jack (Trinh Tran Phuong Tuan) in the song performed on October 16, 2025 in Hanoi with vulgar and deviant lyrics; singer Phao with the song Su Nghiep Chuong ; rapper Gducky with Mien Mong Mi ; CLME (Hoang Ton x Andree x Tinle), Jack with Chua Bao Gio ; Andree with Keo ; Bray x Dat G with Cao Oc 207 ; Hieu Thu Hai with Trinh ; Andree x Binh Gold with Em iu...
