According to information from the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), the unit has received 100% of the cleared land for the construction of phase 1 of Long Thanh International Airport.

Specifically, ACV has received the handover of 2,532 hectares of land from Dong Nai province, including 1,810 hectares in the project construction area and 722 hectares in the land reserve area.

However, ACV stated that the two connecting roads to the project have not yet had their land fully handed over, with Route 1 having handed over 60.28/66.45 hectares (90.7%); and Route 2 having handed over 20.50/59.68 hectares (34.3%).

Therefore, ACV requests that the local authorities expedite land clearance and handover for the remaining area to avoid fragmented projects that could affect the construction progress.

ACV also affirmed that it has prepared funds of approximately 1,600 billion VND for land clearance and will transfer them immediately to the local authorities upon approval of the payment decision by the Long Thanh District People's Committee for each phase to each household.

In particular, earthworks in priority areas to be handed over for the construction of the main structure have been completed, meeting the key 15-month deadline as directed by the Government and the Ministry of Transport .

In addition, the runway, taxiway, and apron areas, as well as the areas designated for component projects 1, 2, and 4, have been completed according to schedule, ensuring the simultaneous construction of the passenger terminal, runway, taxiway, and apron.

Phase 1: Construction of a runway, passenger terminal, and supporting facilities with a capacity of 25 million passengers per year. According to the plan, Phase 1 of the project is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2026.

Phase 2: The airport will have an additional open-configuration runway and terminal built to achieve a capacity of 50 million passengers per year.

Phase 3: Complete the remaining items to enable the airport to reach a capacity of 100 million passengers per year and become the largest airport in Vietnam in the future, aiming to become one of the busiest transit airports in the region .
