US Vice President Kamala Harris has once again challenged former President Donald Trump to a second live debate between them ahead of the November 5th general election.
Ms. Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate this year, recently accepted CNN's invitation to a debate with her Republican opponent on October 23rd.

“Join me on the debate stage. Let’s have another debate. There’s so much more to say, and American voters deserve to hear the dialogues I think we should have about the nature, issues, and policies,” Harris told reporters on September 22 after returning to Washington, D.C., from a fundraising event in New York. The U.S. Vice President also expressed hope that Trump would agree to another “showdown” with her after their first debate on the evening of September 10, organized by ABC in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. However, hours after Harris issued the challenge, Trump flatly refused. Speaking to supporters at a campaign event in Wilmington, North Carolina, the former White House leader explained that it was “too late” to have another “showdown” because Americans had already begun early voting for president. According to Trump; Ms. Harris had the opportunity to do so when Fox News invited her, but she declined. Previously, at a campaign fundraising event in New York City, Ms. Harris asserted that Mr. Trump "seems to be looking for excuses to avoid the issue." This year's US presidential election is entering a crucial stage, with just over 40 days remaining until the general election, and Ms. Harris is considered to have an advantage since becoming the Democratic Party's nominee to replace President Joe Biden. CNN quoted an official from Ms. Harris's campaign as revealing that the Vice President raised $27 million at a fundraising event in New York on September 22nd. This is the largest amount raised at a single event since Ms. Harris officially entered the presidential race.Vietnamnet.vn
