Towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), the Press Department, Culture Newspaper (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in collaboration with the Hanoi Association of Small and Medium Enterprises recently organized the Workshop "Press accompanies the building and development of corporate culture in the new era" in Hanoi.

At the workshop “Press accompanies the construction and development of corporate culture in the new era”, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong said that in order to develop businesses sustainably and creatively in the new era, businesses must pay attention to developing corporate culture. Corporate culture is an essential factor in business development. Culture also helps increase the value of business products, access the market and easily reach customers. The press spreads positive images, values, and missions in corporate culture; tells stories about business products.
The press plays an important role in accompanying the building and development of corporate culture. The press is not only a bridge but also a communication channel, participating in the creation and development of corporate culture. The press has discovered, criticized, and spread the core values in corporate culture.
Editor-in-Chief of Culture Newspaper Nguyen Anh Vu emphasized that in the development of corporate culture, the press is considered a companion and promoter of corporate culture. The press also contributes to promoting policy dialogue between the State - enterprises - society on issues related to business ethics, administrative procedure reform, improving the investment environment; supporting enterprises in building communication strategies, shaping images, brands and core values.
The press is not only a news carrier, but also a “companion” and “creator”, contributing to the construction of a humane and modern business ecosystem. In the digital age, when information is an essential resource, the press can become a pioneer in building and disseminating corporate cultural values to society and the community.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc - Vice President of the Hanoi Association of Small and Medium Enterprises and Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Moi Newspaper emphasized that throughout the country's development, the press and businesses have always had a deep mutual relationship. The press is a strategic communication channel that helps businesses affirm their brands, enhance their reputation and spread their values; meanwhile, businesses, as economic pillars, are the supporting resources for the press to operate, innovate and develop... In the context of deep economic integration and strong digital transformation, Mr. Duc affirmed that the relationship between the press and businesses is increasingly symbiotic, the press is not only an information channel but also a "strategic companion" of businesses.
Overcoming difficulties, creating symbiotic strength
At the workshop, delegates also pointed out some limitations in the relationship between the press and businesses. Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc frankly pointed out that there are still many businesses that do not fully understand the role of the press, while some press agencies do not understand the difficulties of businesses. Worryingly, some individuals have taken advantage of the name of the press to put pressure on and profit from businesses.
In addition, this relationship still lacks a clear regulatory framework for coordination, feedback and transparent information processing. Many businesses lack professional communications departments; many press agencies also lack reporters with in-depth knowledge of economics, finance and markets.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thanh - Head of the People's Electronic Department, People's Newspaper emphasized that the press needs to act in accordance with the principles and purposes of each newspaper. At the same time, the press plays the role of a true companion to businesses, especially in the current context when both businesses and the press are facing many difficulties and challenges. The press needs to delve into the lives of businesses, learn about operational practices, and thereby discover the problems that businesses encounter - many of which do not come from subjective errors but originate from inappropriate mechanisms and policies. At that time, the press can contribute a positive voice in proposing adjustments to laws, decrees, and circulars to remove barriers for the business community.
From a business perspective, Ms. Dinh Thi Thuy - Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of MISA Joint Stock Company suggested that when writing about corporate culture, the press should look at the issue constructively with businesses, together creating greater values. That is the power of symbiosis, resonance - creating common values for both sides.
