Video : SGGP Newspaper gives relief gifts to people affected by floods in Loc An commune, Hue city
On the afternoon of November 4, the floodwaters receded slowly, leaving thousands of houses in Hue City still deeply submerged, with furniture covered in mud and garbage. In that context, Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper coordinated with readers to organize the giving of 100 gifts (each gift includes 500,000 VND in cash and a warm coat) to urgently support people who suffered heavy losses due to floods in Loc An Commune, Hue City.

Trembling while holding the gift bag, Mr. Dang Van Duoc, from Bach Thach village, emotionally recounted: “On the afternoon of October 27, after my wife was taken away to avoid the flood, the three of us had to climb up to the mezzanine near the roof. The night was long, and we were afraid that the water would rise and we would not be able to escape in time. We lost contact with the phone, and the rescue boat could not get in. Thanks to the timely help from SGGP Newspaper and readers, we feel warm in this difficult time.”
Ms. Tran Thi Be, Dong Xuan village, a household whose house was deeply flooded and lost all of its property, shared: “The warm coats given by SGGP Newspaper are very nice, keep warm, protect against wind and light rain. As for the support money, I will save it to buy rice and necessities for the upcoming storm days.”

Since October 25, continuous rains and floods have isolated 10/29 villages of Loc An commune, many roads, underground tunnels, and markets are flooded 1-1.5 meters deep. The government has evacuated 193 households with nearly 600 people to safety, including 13 households in Bach Thach village due to the risk of landslides. Police, militia, and medical forces are on duty 24/7, supporting people and ensuring safety.
Mr. Nguyen Thuan, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Loc An commune, said: "In this difficult period, the gifts from SGGP Newspaper not only have material value but are also a great source of spiritual encouragement for people in flood-affected areas."

In order to support the people of Central Vietnam, SGGP Newspaper launched a fundraising campaign to support people affected by floods.
In the immediate future, SGGP Newspaper has transferred 200 million VND and 400 warm coats to students and people in low-lying areas in Hue City. Vietnam Airlines has accompanied and transported the warm coats free of charge from Ho Chi Minh City to Hue, bringing warmth to people in flood-affected areas in time.
