Specifically, at Giap Bat Bus Station, the number of passengers during peak days is forecast to be around 12,000; the number of bus trips is expected to be 800. The increase in passengers is mainly concentrated on routes to Nam Dinh, Thai Binh , Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, etc.

At Gia Lam Bus Station, the highest number of passengers during peak days is around 3,000, with 400 buses/day, mainly concentrated on routes to Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Bac Giang , etc.

At My Dinh Bus Station, the number of passengers on peak days is around 12,000, with an expected more than 800 bus trips per day. Passengers departing from My Dinh Bus Station mainly travel to provinces such as Hoa Binh, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Dien Bien, Son La, Lai Chau, Quang Ninh, and Cao Bang…

Mr. Hung added that, according to statistics from the past three days (January 19-21), the total number of trips by the entire company was 5,760 (equal to the same period in 2024), including 2,189 trips at Giap Bat Bus Station, 1,172 trips at Gia Lam Bus Station, and 2,399 trips at My Dinh Bus Station. The number of passengers passing through the bus stations was 43,574, a slight decrease compared to the same period in 2024.

However, compared to normal days, the number of passengers at these bus stations has increased over the past three days, but not dramatically. The vehicles on these routes have adequately met the public's travel needs. For some routes experiencing high passenger volumes, the bus stations and transport companies have adjusted their schedules to promptly deploy additional vehicles to serve the public.

Meanwhile, at Nuoc Ngam Bus Station, reporting to the working group, Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, the station director, said that during the Lunar New Year and the Spring Festival of the Year of the Snake, a large number of passengers would gather at the bus station to travel to the provinces of Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh.

“The number of passengers during this period is likely to increase by 140-150% compared to normal days. It is expected that passengers will gather in large numbers at the bus station on Friday afternoon (January 24th), Saturday (January 25th), Sunday afternoon (February 2nd), and Monday morning (February 3rd) for routes to provinces such as Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh,” Mr. Kien said.

Notably, the leaders of Nuoc Ngam Bus Station further informed that, as of January 23rd, 44 transport companies had submitted plans to increase passenger ticket prices with a surcharge for the 2025 Lunar New Year. The average increase ranges from 14% (from 350,000 VND to 400,000 VND/ticket for the 22-bed VIP bus of Bong Sen Cooperative on the Do Luong, Nghe An route) to 61% (from 305,000 VND to 490,000 VND/ticket for the 42-bed bus of Phu Thanh Cooperative, Ba Don, Quang Binh).

The Department of Road Transport stated that, as early as December 2024, it had issued directives to bus stations and transport companies to prepare the best possible plans to best serve the needs of the people. In addition, the Department also requested localities and bus stations to manage ticket prices, ensuring that businesses sell tickets at the listed prices, avoiding profiteering during periods of high demand. At the same time, the Department also requested the Departments of Transport and bus stations to coordinate with relevant authorities to alleviate traffic congestion outside bus stations to ensure buses depart and arrive on time…

After inspecting Giap Bat and Nuoc Ngam bus stations, Mr. Thai assessed that despite the high volume of passengers, both stations were well-organized, with no congestion; the waiting areas were clean and orderly. Sanitation and food services were also well-prepared by the bus stations.
