Phuc Yen Regional General Hospital: Saving the life of a newborn with pulmonary hemorrhage after birth

Two hours after birth, baby H (baby H's mother lives in Tu Lap commune, Me Linh district, Hanoi city) started to moan and had difficulty breathing. Immediately, baby H was transferred to the Neonatal Department, Phuc Yen Regional General Hospital and was diagnosed by doctors with grade II respiratory failure, congenital pneumonia, slow lung fluid absorption and blood clotting disorder.

With a comprehensive treatment regimen, baby H gradually recovered. After 2 days, baby H was able to stop sedation, successfully weaned off the ventilator and no longer had pulmonary bleeding. After 6 days of treatment, baby H was able to breathe on his own, breastfeed well and was able to return to the loving arms of his family. He is expected to fully recover and be discharged from the hospital in a few days.

Baby H's case was a serious one with a combination of many complex diseases. The success in saving the baby's life was thanks to the smooth coordination, quick diagnosis, timely intervention with modern equipment and especially the dedication and high professional capacity of the entire team of doctors and nurses of the Neonatal Department.
