Every year, the Provincial Hospital of Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation receives and treats thousands of patients, most of whom are elderly with chronic diseases or sequelae after stroke or trauma. Elderly patients, weak, with limited self-care ability, require nursing work to be organized scientifically , dedicatedly and professionally. Therefore, the hospital's nursing team always strives to perform the task of comprehensive care, ensuring safety and quality of treatment; at the same time, focusing on communication, behavior, creating a friendly and close environment for patients.

Nurse Nguyen Thi Lanh (Internal Medicine Department) shared: Elderly people are often weak, forgetful, and even psychologically sensitive, easily upset and anxious, so nurses must be patient and gentle in caring for them. Some people have been treated for a long time, and we consider them as our children and grandchildren. Every time we see them progress, being able to sit up and walk on their own, it is a simple but extremely precious joy for us.
Head nurse of Internal Medicine Department Pham Thi Phuong said: Most elderly patients have many chronic diseases and require long-term treatment, so care requires close coordination and a high sense of responsibility. I always make sure that nurses strictly follow professional procedures, maintain a standard and caring attitude in communication, and consider patient satisfaction as a measure of service quality. Nursing is a difficult and stressful profession, but above all, it is the responsibility of doctors to care for and rehabilitate the elderly.
Recognizing the importance of nursing, the Hospital regularly focuses on training and improving the team in both quantity and quality. The Hospital currently has nearly 90 nursing and medical technicians, most of whom have university, postgraduate and college degrees, contributing to improving the quality of treatment for patients.
The hospital is currently implementing many solutions to improve the quality of patient care: Standardizing care processes according to the Ministry of Health 's guidelines; enhancing training and testing skills, monitoring and improving nursing quality indicators; providing health education, guiding patients and their families to participate in care; and closely coordinating with departments and rooms to ensure comprehensive, safe and continuous care.

Nurse CKI Nguyen Thi Anh Thu, Deputy Head of the Nursing Department, said: Identifying care and health recovery for the elderly as a key task, we always consider patients as our relatives, striving to provide the most comprehensive, dedicated and thoughtful care. To meet that requirement, the Hospital builds an annual training plan, focusing on improving professional skills in care, rehabilitation, infection control, patient safety; at the same time, regularly fostering communication skills, counseling and situation handling, helping nurses become more and more confident in their work.
Although the work is still stressful, the nursing staff of the Hospital always shows a sense of responsibility, dedication and deep love for the profession. They are willing to sacrifice their time and overcome difficulties in their personal lives to fulfill their duties of caring for and treating patients. Their quiet dedication not only contributes to ensuring professional work, but also spreads the noble human values of a physician, clearly demonstrating the ethics and mettle of medical professionals in the current period.
Promoting the noble quality of “A good doctor is like a mother”, the nursing team of the Hospital continues to practice professional skills, improve professional qualifications, service skills, and take patients as the center. With a sense of responsibility and dedication in every job, they are contributing to affirming the image of a dedicated, compassionate Quang Ninh doctor, actively contributing to the cause of caring for and protecting people's health.
