According to Major General, Dr. Tran Quoc Viet, Director of Military Hospital 175 , the 1,000-bed general hospital was approved for investment and construction by the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense in 2016 with a total cost of VND 2,500 billion, including 1 basement and 9 floors with a total floor area of 119,721m2 .
The hospital has a modern, interconnected system of clinics with 47 examination rooms, 18 modern operating rooms (including 1 emergency operating room, 3 eye operating rooms and 3 day operating rooms) connected to the Surgical Intensive Care Unit with 21 beds, fully equipped with the latest machinery, ensuring surgery, organ transplants, convenience, strict infection control, and safety.
The system of departments, offices, centers, institutes and modern equipment is scientifically arranged according to subdivisions, creating favorable conditions for patients and meeting the increasing demand for medical examination and treatment, contributing to effectively reducing the burden on the health sector in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring areas. It is expected that when put into operation, the 1,000-bed General Hospital will be able to examine 5,000 - 6,000 patients, treat 1,800 - 2,000 inpatients/day, ensuring the reception and emergency care of up to 300 patients/day.

The hospital has a helipad connected to an elevator that takes patients straight to the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit in the shortest time, ensuring the golden time for emergency care, treatment and resuscitation before transferring to specialized departments.
“With dual-purpose purposes (serving both military and defense missions and ensuring civilian emergency care), Military Hospital 175 has become the first and only medical facility in Vietnam with two helipads, contributing to improving emergency response, disaster prevention, natural disasters, emergency situations and effective medical care for the community,” Major General, Dr. Tran Quoc Viet informed.
According to Major General, Dr. Tran Quoc Viet, the 8,400m2 parking garage is capable of providing parking for nearly 1,000 motorbikes and 600 cars. Not only operating as a regular parking garage for the public, the hospital's parking garage also meets the requirements of military and defense missions, being multi-functional and dual-use to be deployed as a field hospital, emergency area, treatment beds, ensuring evacuation and isolation plans, ready to respond to natural disasters, catastrophes and medical emergencies.
On the same day, Military Hospital 175 celebrated its 50th anniversary and received the Ho Chi Minh Medal for its outstanding achievements in caring for and protecting the health of soldiers and people, participating in the United Nations peacekeeping force, providing emergency medical care on islands, and preventing epidemics.
