According to Ho Chi Minh City Tax, the fake document sent to taxpayers is an invitation to "Update and declare information on regulations on value added tax reduction policy according to Resolution No. 180/2025/QH15 and personal income tax refund policy".

In the document, taxpayers are required to go to the tax authority and bring their chip-embedded citizen identification card; business license or business registration certificate (2 photocopies); tax registration certificate (if any); and electronic file confirmation code on the Government tax information portal.

The document also notes that taxpayers must declare information on the electronic tax page (eTax Mobile) and identify their tax code to receive electronic records before going to the tax authority.

To proactively identify risks, Ho Chi Minh City Tax recommends that taxpayers need to find official information of the Tax authority on Facebook, Tiktok, Zalo, Youtube " Ho Chi Minh City Tax", website or contact the tax authority to determine information.

In addition, taxpayers need to pay attention to the characteristic logo of the tax industry, the identification name of each tax agency as well as the address of Ho Chi Minh City Tax and the tax agencies.

Previously, as VietNamNet reported, a business household in Ho Chi Minh City received an invitation to the tax authority to identify and update some information related to the tax code.

Notably, the invitation accurately shows the taxpayer's personal information.

Talking to reporters, a representative of the business household said that after receiving the invitation, he called the tax officer in charge of the area and went directly to the tax office to confirm the information and present the case.

At this time, the business household discovered that the tax authority did not send a letter requesting tax identification. According to the invitation, the person who signed and stamped it was a tax officer who had been transferred to another job after July 1, 2025.

However, if you read carefully and compare the information on the above fake invitation, you can see some abnormalities such as inconsistent presentation of the document; spelling mistakes; different places where the document was sent and where it was signed; missing numbers in the document; incorrect citation of information on the Resolution, legal basis, organizational structure, etc.

In particular, the signatory in the forged document was Mr. Nguyen Nam Binh, Deputy Director of the Tax Department of Ho Chi Minh City (formerly). But since July, Mr. Binh has been transferred to hold the position of Head of Taxation of Tay Ninh .

Mr. Nguyen Nam Binh also confirmed to VietNamNet that the above document is a forgery. At the same time, the signature in the document is completely different from his real signature.

New scam trick, business households in HCMC have tax payment notices sent to their homes . Business households in HCMC receive invitations from the tax authorities. However, this is a fake document. If you do not read it carefully, taxpayers may be deceived.
