The opponent is too strong.
LPBank Ninh Binh Club faces a "tough" schedule at the 2024 Women's Club World Volleyball Championship. After their opening match against NEC Red Rockets (Japan) at 5 PM yesterday (a 0-3 defeat), at 8 AM this morning (December 18th), Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen and her teammates will have to play their next match in Group B against Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano (Italy).
Bich Tuyen played outstandingly for LPBank Ninh Binh Club but was unable to spring a surprise against a much stronger opponent.
Besides not having enough time to recover, the difference in skill level when facing the reigning European champions with their star-studded lineup including Joanna Wołosz, Gabi Guimaraes, Zhu Ting, and Isabelle Haak also put the Vietnamese women's volleyball team at a disadvantage, leaving them powerless.
Vietnam's top female volleyball hitter, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, was a notable highlight for the LPBank Ninh Binh team. Bich Tuyen's powerful and tricky shots posed a significant threat to the defense of Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano. The hitter from Vinh Long scored many impressive points, but LPBank Ninh Binh ultimately lost 0-3 (16/25, 8/25, 15/25). Competing against top -tier clubs with their all-around offensive and defensive capabilities was a valuable learning opportunity for Bich Tuyen and her teammates.
With three consecutive losses, LPBank Ninh Binh Club is at the bottom of Group B, with no chance of reaching the semi-finals of the 2024 Women's Club World Cup. At 2 PM tomorrow, Bich Tuyen and her teammates will play their final group stage match against Dentil Praia Club (Brazil).
The 2024 Women's Club World Volleyball Championship features eight top clubs: Tianjin Club (China, host), Minas Tenis (Brazil, South American champion), Vero Volley Milano (Italy, European runner-up), and Zamalek SC (Egypt, African champion) in Group A; and Imoco Club (Italy, European champion), NEC Red Rockets (Japan, Asian champion), Dentil Praia (Brazil, South American runner-up), and LPBank Ninh Binh Club (Vietnam, Asian runner-up). The teams will play a round-robin format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals.
