TPO – On the morning of October 6, the Cultural Festival for Peace took place at Hoan Kiem Lake, attracting thousands of people and tourists to participate.

On the morning of October 6, thousands of people flocked to neighborhoods near Hoan Kiem Lake to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the Cultural Festival for Peace.

Trang Tien Plaza area was packed with people from early morning.

The walking street space around the lake is the main venue of the Cultural Festival for Peace, which will open to the public at 10:30, so those who arrive early will gather on neighboring streets such as Hai Ba Trung, Hang Bai, Hang Khay, etc.

People were instructed by authorities to stand on both sides of the road so that vehicles could pass through and avoid congestion.

Many people eagerly took to the streets to wait for the parade to pass, exchanging warm handshakes.

This event is held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024) and the year Hanoi was awarded the title "City for Peace" by UNESCO (July 16, 1999 - July 16, 2024).

Many children were also taken to the streets by their families to join in the vibrant atmosphere of the holiday.

The traditional long dress is chosen by many people to wear on this special festival, both to highlight the beauty of Vietnamese women and to promote the image of traditional costumes to international friends.

Even though we had to wait outside for quite a while, everyone was excited and interacted with the performers inside by waving, cheering, and encouraging.

Many young people came early in the morning with national flags in their hands.

Ms. Minh Ha (living in Kim Giang) said: “My two children and I have been here since 6am to enjoy the bustling atmosphere of the festival. I thought I was early, but when I got off the bus, I saw many people waiting here.”

The neighborhood was still bustling with people and vehicles even though it was noon.
