Binh Duong builds nearly 5,000 billion VND drainage canal to prevent flooding in the East

TPO - Binh Duong province invested in the construction of the Cai stream drainage canal project in the eastern region with a total investment of nearly 5,000 billion VND. In 2024, Binh Duong will spend more than 1,500 billion VND on the project and it is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

On June 12, a representative of the Project Management Board of Agriculture and Rural Development of Binh Duong province said that the construction of the Cai stream drainage canal project from Tho Ut bridge to Dong Nai river had begun with a total investment of about 4,943 billion VND. Of which, the largest component is the cost of compensation, resettlement support, site clearance (2,179 billion VND) and construction cost (2,238 billion VND).

The project is responsible for drainage for a basin of more than 22,500 hectares, including about 3,200 hectares of industrial parks and clusters, and at the same time builds 37.4 km of regional roads.

The project passing through Phu Chanh, Vinh Tan, Tan Hiep wards of Tan Uyen City (Binh Duong) is a key project invested in and built by Binh Duong to ensure the need for drainage of rainwater and treated wastewater for Cai stream basin, contributing to environmental improvement, urban beautification, and regional traffic development.

The project has a total length of about 18,950m (including the main branch of Cai stream flowing to Tong Bang bridge, 14,310m long, and the secondary branch flowing to Ba Kien bridge, 4,640m long).

The project includes 10 construction packages, of which 2 packages (2A, 2B) will be implemented from January 2024 and are expected to be completed in May 2025.

The project has two most important construction packages in the dredging and stream reinforcement categories and works on the stream (from after Tho Ut bridge to before Ben San bridge).

Accordingly, the construction package No. 2A dredging and reinforcing the main Cai stream branch from K0+200 to K3+650 (after Tho Ut bridge to Vinh Lai stream, including works on the canal) was awarded to the joint venture of Hai Duong Dike Construction and Rural Development Joint Stock Company - Hoang Son Energy Investment - Construction - Trade Joint Stock Company with a winning bid price of 337.4 billion VND. The contract implementation period is 540 days.

The joint venture of Hai Duong Embankment Construction and Rural Development Joint Stock Company - Hoang Son Energy Investment - Construction - Trade Joint Stock Company is also the contractor for the construction of package No. 2B, dredging and reinforcing the main branch of Cai stream from K3+650 to K6+058 (from Vinh Lai stream to before Ben San bridge, including works on the canal) with a winning bid price of 229.5 billion VND.

In addition, the project also has 8 construction packages for the main Cai stream branch from before Ben San bridge to Tong Bang bridge, 8,252m long, the secondary Cai stream branch to Ba Kien bridge, 4,640m long and Tho Ut bridge from K0 to K0+200. Construction is expected to start from the second quarter of 2024 to the first quarter of 2025, with all packages completed by the end of 2026.

In 2024, the project will be allocated capital of more than 1,545 billion VND, of which the central budget capital is 245.6 billion VND and the provincial budget capital is 1,300 billion VND. According to the plan, in 2024, the remaining construction packages of the project will be completed by the investor in the contractor selection and construction commencement to ensure the overall progress of the entire project.
