Ministry of Education and Training moves 2026 university entrance exam schedule up half a month

Accordingly, the Ministry of Education and Training requires training institutions to develop specific plans, consistent with the Ministry's general plan; publicize and transparently disclose enrollment information so that candidates can quickly access and prepare for registration, ensuring fairness in enrollment.

Training institutions need to provide consistent admission information on expected admission methods, and implement consultation and communication activities for the 2026 admission period.

The Ministry also requires training institutions to develop enrollment plans and promptly announce enrollment information so that students have a plan to study and review for the 2026 high school graduation exam. At the same time, schools must comply with enrollment regulations and current laws; fully perform their accountability to the Ministry, competent authorities and society for all enrollment work.

The Ministry of Education and Training also gave notable milestones of the 2026 enrollment plan.

Specifically, training institutions must complete the announcement of enrollment information on the school's website by February 15.

Candidates practice registering and adjusting their admission wishes on the system from June 17 to 21. After that, candidates and the reception point will review, edit and confirm information about priority regimes.

On June 20, candidates submit foreign language certificates and SAT scores to the admissions office for review. These offices will update the preliminary results and independent, supplementary exams, and assessments of ability or thinking (if any).

From the time candidates register for the exam until August 30, training institutions and the Department of Education and Training will support candidates to register for the first round of admission online.

Candidates and training institutions complete the submission of applications for direct admission and priority admission by June 20. Complete the direct admission and notify candidates of the results, and update the list of successful candidates to the system before June 30.

Timelines candidates need to note

From May 1 to May 20, 2026, the Department of Education and Training will provide additional accounts for candidates (high school and college graduates) who do not have an account to register for admission on the system.

From July 2 to 5:00 p.m. on July 14, candidates can register and adjust their admission wishes an unlimited number of times within the prescribed time.

On July 8, 2026, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the threshold to ensure input quality for teacher training, health and law fields.

At 5:00 p.m. on July 10, 2026, the training institution will complete the adjustment and announce the admission score and equivalent converted admission score on the system and website.

Candidates pay admission fees online from July 15 to July 21, 2026.

Before 5:00 p.m. on August 13, candidates will be notified of their admission to the first round. Candidates confirm their admission to the first round online on the system before 5:00 p.m. on August 21, 2026.

Educational institutions announce additional enrollment from August 22, 2026.

Direct admission and priority admission methods will continue to be applied in 2026. However, for high school transcript admission, the Ministry has not yet decided whether to continue or abolish it.
