Ministry of Construction directs to fix landslides and road cracks on La Son - Hoa Lien highway

On October 28, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van signed and issued a document on focusing on responding to and overcoming floods, inundations, flash floods, landslides on the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway.

According to the Ministry of Construction , heavy rain has greatly affected traffic on the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway, some locations had to temporarily close the road due to flooding, strong currents, some locations had landslides and cracked roads.

To proactively prevent, avoid, and respond to rain, floods, flash floods, landslides, ensure traffic safety and promptly handle construction incidents on the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway, the Ministry of Construction requests:

The Vietnam Road Administration directs according to its functions and closely coordinates with the Traffic Police to ensure the safety and smooth flow of vehicles on the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway.

The Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, consultants, and construction contractors coordinate with the Vietnam Road Administration and relevant authorities in the process of regulating and ensuring traffic safety for vehicles participating in traffic.

Agencies and units proactively take measures to respond to unusual weather developments, fully arrange human resources, machinery, equipment, supplies, materials, and on-site standby forces according to the "four on-site" motto to promptly overcome construction incidents, be ready to organize rescue and the fastest response in case of incidents; ensure safety for people and vehicles at the construction site.

In addition, agencies and units inspect and review the entire construction site, promptly detect potentially unsafe locations to have timely solutions.

The Ministry of Construction notes that at locations where roads are being widened, it is necessary to promptly clean up and move machinery and equipment to designated locations to ensure safety for people, constructions, machinery and equipment; and not leave machinery, equipment and vehicles in locations with potential risks of collapse, landslides, deep flooding, etc.

At the same time, agencies and units must have solutions to brace, support, and anchor equipment and materials that cannot be moved; clear water flows and drainage works to ensure they are always clear; fully arrange signaling systems and warning signs, paying special attention to underwater construction projects.
