According to the Drug Administration of Vietnam ( Ministry of Health ), in this 11th extension, the agency announced nearly 900 different types of domestically produced drugs and drug raw materials, which will continue to be used until December 31st.
The agency also issued a list of 193 foreign drugs that have been granted or renewed registration certificates for circulation in Vietnam, and simultaneously announced the second batch of 15 branded drugs registered in 2024.
The range of domestic and foreign pharmaceutical products whose registration numbers have been renewed recently is very diverse.
Domestic and foreign pharmaceutical products whose registration numbers have been renewed encompass a wide range of pharmacological effects, including drugs for cancer, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, diabetes, antiviral drugs, respiratory disease treatments, antibiotics, antipyretics, analgesics, other common anti-inflammatory drugs, and vaccines and biological products that are in high demand for use in medical examination and treatment and disease prevention.
Previously, in January-February 2024, the Drug Administration of Vietnam issued numerous decisions announcing the extension and granting of new registration numbers for more than 1,000 types of drugs, drug raw materials, original branded drugs, vaccines, and medical biological products.
In 2023, the Ministry of Health processed applications for import licenses for drugs that did not yet have marketing authorization to meet the treatment needs of patients.
The Ministry directs the Departments of Health to strengthen efforts to ensure the supply of medicines in their respective areas, particularly those drugs/combination drugs/raw materials used in the manufacture of medicines that are narcotic substances, psychotropic substances, precursors, or pharmaceutical ingredients.
Regarding the issuance of legal documents, the Drug Administration Department has advised and reported to the Ministry, the Government, and the National Assembly on the issuance of legal documents, including Decree 30 on ensuring the supply of medicines and medical equipment.
