
Implementing Directive 02/CT-BKHCN of the Minister of Science and Technology on strengthening postal safety and security to serve Party Congresses at all levels and improving the effectiveness of preventing and combating the transportation of smuggled and prohibited goods via post, Vietnam Post continues to strengthen postal safety and security to the highest priority level.
Units across the network develop and activate plans to enhance capacity, responsibility and effectiveness in ensuring safety and security in the provision of postal services; prevent acts of taking advantage of postal services to commit violations of the law, fraud and property appropriation; ensure the reputation, transparency and reliability of postal services.
In addition to implementing measures to ensure the acceptance, exploitation, transportation and delivery of postal items as well as information security and fraud prevention; Vietnam Post also develops and implements a plan to enhance network capacity, labor, exploitation area, arrange transportation means, and 24/7 customer care force to ensure that all postal items are accepted, exploited, transported and delivered in accordance with regulations, safely and promptly.
In particular, right from the acceptance stage, units must check the content of the goods before accepting the postal items; conduct joint inspections between the sender and the accepting staff; proactively assess and classify the level of safety and security risks according to the exploitation route, sending area, and type of postal items; strictly identify the sender, store information and images of postal items for at least 3 months to serve retrieval when necessary.
In the transportation and exploitation stage, strengthen the review, supplement, and ensure the camera surveillance system at postal service points, transit points, and exploitation centers; check and screen goods according to regulations; seal and ensure safety for bags, packages, parcels, and means of transport; and closely coordinate with authorities when detecting prohibited goods or unusual signs.
At the delivery stage, postmen must not deliver postal items that show signs of violation, unusual interference, or are suspected of containing illegal documents; promptly report and coordinate with relevant units and authorities to handle according to regulations.
As a national postal enterprise, Vietnam Post is committed to strictly complying with the instructions of the Government, the Ministry of Science and Technology, etc. to ensure absolute safety for postal activities serving the election of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. Vietnam Post continues to mobilize maximum resources, tighten operational discipline and maintain a high level of vigilance to meet the requirements of important political tasks in the current peak period.
