Responding to storm No. 3 and the urgent dispatch of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Rescue, enterprises in VSIP Nghe An 1 Industrial Park have temporarily stopped construction of high-rise buildings as well as internal roads passing through the industrial park to ensure safety for people; and organized to brace the construction crane towers on the roofs of high-rise buildings.

At WHA I Nghe An Industrial Park, due to the low terrain and the separate system of dikes and water collection ditches, immediately after the forecast of storm No. 3 causing heavy rain affecting the factories, WHA I Nghe An Joint Stock Company continuously checked and tested the pumps of the industrial park; at the same time, reminded contractors who were constructing large works and factories to temporarily stop construction and brace the corrugated iron roofs.

At Hoang Mai 1 Industrial Park, talking with a representative of Hoang Thinh Dat Joint Stock Company - the investor of the industrial park's infrastructure, it was known that: To prevent storm No. 3, the company has established a working group to review and remind businesses and investors who are constructing the project; at the same time, established a standing team to handle incidents when the storm enters or the storm circulation causes heavy rain.

Mr. Vu Huu Hiep - Head of Safety and Disaster Prevention Department, WHA I Nghe An Industrial Park Office said: WHA I Nghe An Industrial Park designed 2 large capacity pumping systems with nearly 10 units. Phase 1 has operated 3 units, pumping capacity of 10 m3 /second; Phase 2 is investing in 6 units, pumping capacity of 15 m3 /second. This is a backup drainage pumping system when heavy rains exceed 200mm. If the water level in the industrial park's internal system rises, the pumping system will operate to transport water to the canal and river outside.

The representative of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Rescue of Phuc Loc Commune said: Compared to before, the drainage pumping system invested by the Southeast Economic Zone is relatively complete, so the risk of flooding is less. However, to effectively prevent flooding, in the event of heavy rain over 200mm, WHA I Nghe An Industrial Park needs to coordinate synchronously with the flood discharge operations of the communes and provinces. In particular, when it rains heavily, the sea level rises, leading to the Bara Nghi Quang sluice having to close, easily causing flooding in the area along the Cam River, so the units of WHA I Nghe An Industrial Park as well as the commune level must closely follow the forecast bulletins, coordinate closely to proactively pump and discharge appropriately.

Mr. Pham The Nhat - Head of Construction Planning and Environment Department, Southeast Economic Zone Management Board said: To prevent storm No. 3, in addition to establishing a Zalo group on fire, explosion and natural disaster prevention for industrial parks in the Southeast Economic Zone to provide information and direct regularly, on the afternoon of July 21, the Board issued Document No. 1373/KKT-XDMT urging infrastructure investors and enterprises in industrial parks in the Economic Zone to proactively establish a standing unit, develop a plan to prevent floods and storms; maintain forces, closely coordinate with the provincial Flood and Storm Prevention Board to minimize damage when the storm comes./.
