Businesses are preparing to return to the bond market.

If in the first half of 2024, the corporate bond market was almost exclusively a playground for banks and credit institutions with overwhelming issuance volume, recently, the market has continuously recorded the return of businesses from many industry groups.

A logistics company, Transimex Corporation, recently announced the successful issuance of TMSH2426001 bonds with a mobilized value of VND 100 billion. The bonds have a term of 2 years, maturing on August 13, 2026, with a fixed interest rate of 9.5%/year.

This is the first batch of bonds that Transimex has issued this year. Previously, in 2023 and 2021, the company also raised 2 batches of bonds with a total value of 600 billion VND. Thus, to date, this company has successfully raised 700 billion VND in bonds.

On the other hand, the company has just bought back 180 billion VND of bonds code TMSH2126001 before maturity. The remaining value after buying back this bond lot is 120 billion VND, expected to mature on August 13, 2026.

Van Huong Investment and Tourism JSC, a real estate and construction company, has also successfully raised VND1,396.2 billion. The bonds have a term of 3 years, maturing on July 16, 2027, with an interest rate of 10%/year.

This is also the first bond batch that Van Huong Tourism has issued this year. In 2021 and 2022, this enterprise had 6 bond issuances with a total mobilized value of up to 5,094 billion VND. Thus, up to now, this enterprise has mobilized a total of 6,490 billion VND in bonds. Of which, a bond batch worth 1,499.6 billion VND matured at the end of 2023. In September and October, the enterprise will continue to mature 2 bond batches with a total value of 1,500 billion VND.

Also in August, Becamex IDC, a famous real estate company in the South, successfully raised a 200 billion VND bond lot with a 3-year term, maturing on August 8, 2027, with an interest rate of 10.5%/year.

This is the third bond lot that Becamex IDC has offered this year. Since the beginning of the year, the company has raised a total of VND2,300 billion in bonds. In previous years, Becamex IDC was a "familiar" name in the corporate bond market. The company continuously issued bonds with the total value of each bond lot ranging from several hundred to thousands of billions of VND.

Some other real estate enterprises such as Thai Son Construction Investment Joint Stock Company successfully mobilized 1,890 billion VND; IPA Investment Group Joint Stock Company issued 1,096 billion VND in bonds; Ha An Real Estate Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company mobilized 235 billion VND; Hai Dang Real Estate Investment and Development Company Limited successfully mobilized 2,850 billion VND...

Similarly, for securities companies, Rong Viet Securities JSC successfully raised VND889.1 billion; Techcom Securities JSC successfully raised VND500 billion...

Although businesses in various industries have re-issued bonds, the market remains relatively gloomy. Although the issuance volume recorded a sharp increase compared to the same period last year, it mainly belonged to the banking group with the issuance volume in the first 7 months of the year reaching VND136,500 billion, accounting for 68% of the total issuance value.
