A closer look at the trillion-VND ring road in Da Nang , which is about to receive reinvestment.

Da Nang's Western Ring Road 2 was designed to be 14.3km long, but only over 4km has been completed so far. In the near future, Da Nang will continue to invest in the section from Road No. 8 in Hoa Khanh Industrial Zone to Hoang Van Thai Road.
The Western Ring Road 2, passing through Cam Le and Lien Chieu districts and Hoa Vang district (Da Nang), was invested with a total capital of over 1,400 billion VND. This is an important route, connecting with the city's ring road transportation axes.
Construction began in December 2019; however, due to some issues related to investment capital, it could not be implemented as originally planned.
Therefore, the project focuses only on completing the 4.6km section from Road No. 8 in Hoa Khanh Industrial Park to the Nam Hai Van bypass.
The aforementioned road section was inaugurated and put into use on January 30th.
According to our reporter's observations, the completed section of road has a central median, lighting system, wide road surface, and smooth traffic flow.
The newly inaugurated Western Ring Road 2 has not yet been equipped with street name signs.
However, upon reaching the intersection with Road No. 8 in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Zone, the road suddenly comes to a "dead end".
This situation arose because the OPEC funding had expired, forcing a temporary halt to construction.
To address this situation, the Da Nang City People's Committee has agreed on a plan to adjust the route as proposed by the Department of Transport and assigned the Da Nang Priority Infrastructure Management Board to coordinate with the People's Committees of Lien Chieu, Cam Le, and Hoa Vang districts/communes, and other relevant units to estimate the costs of land clearance and construction investment.
To date, the Da Nang City People's Committee has allocated investment capital for the Western Ring Road 2 project (section from Road No. 8 in Hoa Khanh Industrial Park to Hoang Van Thai Road).
It is expected that by 2027, the section from Road No. 8 in Hoa Khanh Industrial Zone to Hoang Van Thai Street will be fully invested in and put into operation. The section from Hoang Van Thai Street to Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street will be completed and put into operation by 2030.
