Traffic accidents involving freight vehicles occurred frequently and accounted for a high percentage, concentrated on national highways, provincial roads, routes leading to construction material and mineral mining areas, beltways, gateways to large cities, densely populated urban areas, and areas with many factories and enterprises. In addition to the subjective causes of vehicle drivers, it is also necessary to mention that this is the peak and rush hour period, with many types of vehicles and high traffic density, and the transition between morning and evening, with limited visibility.

On that basis, the Traffic Police Department has directed the national traffic police force to simultaneously inspect and handle vehicles transporting goods according to the orders of the Director of the Traffic Police Department. In particular, local traffic police clearly identify routes and locations for stopping and controlling vehicles on national highways, provincial roads, routes leading to construction material and mineral mining areas, beltways, gateways to large cities, densely populated urban areas, areas with many factories and enterprises, etc.

Behaviors focused on handling: Carrying overloaded goods, exceeding the limit size, extending the vehicle's body; alcohol concentration; drugs; speed; road section, lane, entering the emergency lane on the highway; avoiding overtaking; entering prohibited roads, prohibited hours, driving in the opposite direction of the road; not turning on headlights according to regulations, changing direction without signaling, not obeying traffic light signals; using phones, electronic devices while driving; conditions for transport business (transportation badges; installation and data transmission of journey monitoring devices, driver image recording devices; invoices, documents of transported goods,...). Subjects of control: Focus on tractor trucks, container trucks, freight trucks, construction materials, minerals,...

Effectively promote the monitoring system, automatic load weighing system, and installed traffic command center to detect and control violations. Mobilize maximum forces and technical equipment, focus on control and handling. When controlling at a point, it is necessary to arrange mobile patrol and control forces by motorbike around that area, to avoid cases where these vehicles avoid control and go onto other roads causing traffic accidents. Organize propaganda on the implementation of this topic and the time frame for control and handling. Control will be carried out simultaneously with the peak of ensuring traffic safety during Tet 2026.
