More than 30 thousand health insurance cards issued to children under 6 years old through public services

After nearly 6 months of implementation, the pilot program to issue health insurance cards to children under 6 years old through 2 interconnected public service groups has resolved more than 30,000 applications for this group of subjects.

Implementing the Project "Developing applications of population data, identification and electronic authentication to serve national digital transformation in the period of 2022-2025, with a vision to 2030" approved in Decision No. 06/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister (hereinafter referred to as Project 06), Vietnam Social Security has made efforts, focused resources, resolutely implemented and successfully completed the assigned tasks of this Project.

As of May 16, 2023, the implementation of Project 06 of Vietnam Social Security has achieved some specific results. Notably, the integration and provision of online public services on the National Public Service Portal is a highlight.

Vietnam Social Security has proactively coordinated with relevant ministries and branches to adjust and upgrade software, share and connect with the Public Service Software, meeting the requirements for issuing health insurance cards for children under 6 years old and resolving funeral allowances in the public service groups "birth registration - permanent residence registration - issuance of health insurance cards for children under 6 years old" and "death registration - cancellation of permanent residence registration - funeral allowance".

Pilot implementation from November 21, 2022 to present, the two pilot localities, Ha Nam and Hanoi, have received and processed 30,119 applications for health insurance cards for children under 6 years old and 1,104 applications for funeral expenses through two groups of interconnected public services.

With the active coordination of the Ministry of Public Security and the Government Office, Vietnam Social Security has restructured its business processes and completed the integration of the service "Renewal of health insurance cards for households with reduced contribution levels" on the National Public Service Portal from July 2022. Since then, it has received renewals for 1,301 health insurance cards through this public service.

Vietnam Social Security has received from the National Public Service Portal to confirm and pay unemployment insurance payment process for 131,875 cases to serve the settlement of unemployment benefits for employees.

Since January 19, 2023, Vietnam Social Security has integrated the public service "Registering for voluntary social insurance payment" on the Vietnam Social Security Public Service Portal and the National Public Service Portal. The system has currently received and processed 170 transactions for registration for voluntary social insurance payment.

Thanks to the successful integration of remote digital signature service (digital signature on mobile devices), on this basis, Vietnam Social Security will continue to adjust the software to meet the requirements of deploying the public service "Resolving one-time social insurance benefits".

At the same time, Vietnam Social Security is continuing to coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security to exploit household data from the National Population Database to deploy the public service "Registering for health insurance for people who only participate in health insurance".
