Father passed away, top striker of U22 Malaysia team to miss match with U22 Vietnam?

TPO - Haqimi Azim Rosli's father has just passed away after suffering a stroke. The 22-year-old striker had to return home to mourn his father, which means he will almost certainly not be able to attend the big match with U22 Vietnam on December 11.

This morning (December 9), Haqimi Azim Rosli received bad news from his hometown. His father was rushed to the hospital due to a stroke. Despite the doctors' best efforts to save him, Haqimi Azim Rosli's father could not survive.

The Malaysian U22 striker announced on social media: "I would like to inform everyone that my father passed away this morning. His passing is a very shocking and difficult thing for our family," Haqimi Azim Rosli wrote.

According to Astro Arena, Haqimi Azim Rosli was allowed by the U22 Malaysia leadership to attend the funeral of his late father. On December 9, he was in his hometown Johor. From now until the big match with U22 Vietnam, there are 2 days left, so it is almost certain that Haqimi Azim Rosli will not be able to return in time to prepare for the match.

Haqimi Azim Rosli has scored 5 goals for the Malaysia U22 team.

It is likely that Haqimi Azim Rosli will only return to SEA Games 33 if the home team reaches the semi-finals. This is a big disadvantage for the U22 Malaysia team against U22 Vietnam. While coach Kim Sang-sik and his team have almost optimal forces to prepare for the battle, on the opposite side, U22 Malaysia has lost many key players. In addition to some positions that were not supported by the club to be promoted to the national team, they also lost Haqimi Azim Rosli.

Of the four strikers registered for the 33rd SEA Games, Haqimi Azim Rosli is the second best scorer. He has scored a total of 5 goals at the U22/U23 level and 1 goal for the national team. This achievement is only behind Fergus Tierney (7 goals). Unfortunately, after scoring to help his team win against Laos, Haqimi Azim Rosli had to sit out.
