Welcoming the 1st Congress of Khanh Hoa Provincial Farmers' Association, term 2025 - 2030: Phuoc Hau Commune Farmers' Association: A bright spot in value chain cooperation

With the goal of creating stable and sustainable income for members and farmers, in recent times, the Farmers' Association of Phuoc Hau commune has effectively implemented cooperation and association with enterprises to implement value chains in agricultural production; at the same time connecting, supporting and promoting the development of cooperative groups, cooperatives, branches and professional Farmers' Association groups in the locality.

Phuoc Hau Commune Farmers' Association has 18 branches, 15 professional associations, with 2,781 members. As a purely agricultural commune, with a stable agricultural cultivation area of ​​more than 3,000 hectares, with proactive irrigation water from the lakes: Lanh Ra, Song Cai, Da Nhim, the Commune Farmers' Association has determined that the establishment, maintenance and development of cooperative economic organizations linking production according to the value chain on key crops and livestock such as: Rice, corn, grapes, apples, green asparagus, cows, goats, sheep... is a practical and appropriate direction, aiming to create a stable and sustainable source of income for members and local farmers.

Promoting the advantage of the corn-growing area, the Commune Farmers' Association has cooperated with CP Vietnam Seeds Company Limited, Dong Nam Seed Joint Stock Company, Nha Ho Seed Production Center and cooperatives to propagate and mobilize members to sign contracts to purchase corn seed production with an annual area of ​​about 450 hectares/crop. The companies and cooperatives organize technical training, support the supply of seeds and fertilizers and commit to purchasing all corn seed products at the agreed price from the beginning of the season. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai ( Phuoc An 1 village) shared: "My family cultivates 3 sao of corn seed, the average yield per crop is about 8 quintals/sao (whole corn). The production linkage helps us feel secure about the output and price of agricultural products, not worrying about the situation of "good harvest, low price, good price, bad harvest", so farmers are excited".

In addition to linking corn seed production, the Commune Farmers' Association has chaired the establishment of a Green Asparagus Growing Cooperative with 12 members, and assigned the group leader to directly coordinate with Linh Dan Ninh Thuan Company Limited to sign a contract to pilot planting 5 hectares of green asparagus. Currently, green asparagus is in the harvesting stage of about 150 - 200 kg/ha/day, with a guaranteed price of 55,000 VND/kg, bringing farmers an income of about 8.5 - 11 million VND/ha/day, from 250 - 300 million VND/ha/month. The Commune Farmers' Association continues to coordinate with Linh Dan Ninh Thuan Company Limited to survey and expand the green asparagus growing area in the commune with an area of ​​about 50 hectares.

Promoting cooperation for sustainable agricultural development

Implementing Decision No. 182, dated February 20, 2024 of the Prime Minister approving the Project "Vietnam Farmers' Association participates in the development of collective economy in agriculture until 2030", Phuoc Hau Commune Farmers' Association has coordinated with sectors and the Provincial Cooperative Union to consolidate, maintain and establish new cooperative groups, cooperatives, branches, and professional Farmers' Association groups. Through the implementation of the project, up to now, the commune has 7 agricultural cooperatives and 15 professional associations for production and livestock breeding. The cooperatives have played an active role in linking and managing production stages on an area of ​​3,000 hectares of various crops, including 3 large rice fields with an area of ​​867.5 hectares.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Duc - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phuoc Hau Commune, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Phuoc Hau Commune said: "In the coming time, the Farmers' Association of the Commune will continue to propagate to raise awareness and understanding for members and farmers about the Party and State's policies and guidelines related to agriculture, farmers and rural areas; about production linkage, application of scientific and technological advances to stabilize production and increase income. Along with that, the Association at all levels will coordinate to promote and improve the quality of the movement "Farmers compete in production, good business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably"; mobilize members and farmers to actively participate in restructuring the agricultural sector, shifting the structure of crops and livestock, creating specialized production areas, large fields, production according to the value chain; continue to coordinate with local authorities, sectors and the Provincial Cooperative Union to review, consolidate and improve the quality of cooperative activities, establish new cooperatives in places with sufficient conditions. Thereby, contributing to promoting agricultural development local industry in a sustainable direction, creating stable income for members and farmers.
